Vice President - Sector Skill Councils (SSCs)

Leads NSDC strategy, governance, performance, and operational support for Sector Skill Councils. Oversees council collaboration, skill-gap identification, competency standards, qualification packs, assessments, certifications, stakeholder engagement, reviews, escalation management, and adoption of global best practices. Represents NSDC in industry forums and mentors councils on outreach, skill requirements, and sustainable ecosystem development.
Purpose:
One of the major pillars of NSDC’s strength are Sector Skill Councils (SSCs), which play a vital role in bridging the gap between what the industry demands and what the skilling requirements ought to be. The SSCs operate as an autonomous body and could be registered as a Section 8 Company. NSDC is mandated to initiate and incubate SSCs with initial seed funding to facilitate their growth and enable them to achieve self-sustainability in a time bound manner. Currently the main purpose of this position to strategies and envision the structure, Governance and operations of sector skills council and suggest innovative ways by benchmarking with Global best practices.
Build and implement NSDC strategy for ensuring performance and governance of Sector Skills Councils.
• Lead NSDC's collaboration & co-working with SSC and efficiency and quality in implementation of NSDC’s mandates across Industries.
• Create strategy to support SSC's in identifying skill needs in a particular sector, creation of a development plan and having a skill inventory.
• Govern skills/competency standards and qualifications get them notified as per NSQF.
• Ensure effective working of SSC's through periodic connects, reviews and action planning.
• Serve as point of escalation for SSC's in the state to address any concerns
• Represent NSDC in relevant meetings / forums related to Industry-SSC meetings.
• Supervise SSC in creating Qualification Packs, work with NSDC Stakeholders to get the same reviewed and approved.
• Liaison with SSC to provide support in Assessments and Certification.
• Guide, Mentor and motivate SSCs on Industry outreach and skill requirement gathering.
• Represent NSDC in relevant meetings / forums related to Industry-SSC meetings.
• Facilitate identification of Best Practices across SSC's and support SSC's in leveraging the same in their eco system.
Requirements
Knowledge and Experience:
Education Qualifications: Master’s in Business administration, CS Preferred, however same is not mandatory.
Experience Minimum 20 years of experience in relevant field like Operations Management of multiple Subsidiaries. Business Performance
Monitoring. Managing Multiple Boards and Senior Industry Stakeholders. Exposure with Skilling ecosystem
Language Skills: Must be fluent in English, Hindi. Local language would be an added advantage.
