Provides technical consulting and hands-on application development using Guidewire BillingCenter. Configures and integrates insurance applications, develops maintainable code, troubleshoots production and performance issues, uses SQL and web services, supports continuous integration, prepares specifications, estimates work, and mentors engineers. The role requires collaboration in dynamic onsite/offshore environments and benefits from Property & Casualty insurance knowledge.
Technical Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Computer/Information Science or Information Systems Management or equivalent Minimum 10 years of IT hands-on application development experience Minimum 4 to 6 years of IT hands-on development experience with Guidewire BillingCenter 9.0 or higher Proven experience with Configuration and Integration experience with Guidewire BillingCenter 9.0 or higher Minimum 3 years of hand on experience with SQL (SQL server/Oracle/DB2)/No SQL related technologies Minimum 2 years of experience integrating with RESTful /SOAP Web services Knowledge of working with monitoring tools like AppDynamics Strong understanding of object-oriented design best practices Knowledge of researching and preparing detailed functional specifications Good knowledge of estimating, planning and tracking development tasks Experience with debugging production issues and resolving them Experience with identifying application performance bottlenecks and resolving them In depth hands-on experience with continuous integration practices, processes and tools (Jenkins, JUNIT, GitLab) Proficient in writing configurable, maintainable and testable code in a highly collaborative environment Property & Casualty domain knowledge is a plus Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills Works well as a member of a group Ability to work in a semi-structured environment where requirements and priorities are dynamic Self-Motivated to perform without outside help Worked in onsite/offshore model Mentor other engineers while raising the bar on the team’s technical excellence
