Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Assessor/Interviewer specializing in Big Data to join our team. This advanced role involves evaluating technical candidates for various senior-level big data positions, ensuring they meet the highest standards of technical proficiency, problem-solving abilities, and cultural fit. The ideal candidate will possess a deep expertise in big data technologies, methodologies, tools, and practices, along with a strong ability to mentor and guide the technical assessment process.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct comprehensive technical interviews and assessments for senior-level big data positions, ensuring a thorough evaluation of candidates technical skills, experience, and cultural fit.
  • Develop and continuously update advanced assessment criteria and interview questions to reflect the latest big data trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with the HR and big data teams to understand complex role requirements, desired skills, and team dynamics, tailoring assessments accordingly.
  • Provide detailed, actionable feedback and recommendations to the hiring team, playing a key role in informing hiring decisions.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in big data technologies, tools, and practices, ensuring that assessments remain current and relevant.
  • Facilitate in-depth technical workshops or discussions to evaluate candidates’ hands-on skills in a collaborative environment.
  • Mentor and train junior technical assessors/interviewers, providing guidance on best practices and interview techniques.
  • Ensure an exceptional candidate experience throughout the technical assessment process.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in big data roles, with at least 5 years specializing in senior big data positions.
  • Deep understanding of big data technologies and frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and HBase.
  • Proficiency with programming languages and tools such as Python, Java, Scala, and SQL.
  • Experience with data processing and ETL tools (e.g., Apache Nifi, Talend).
  • Familiarity with data storage solutions such as HDFS, Amazon S3, and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate complex technical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to provide constructive feedback and mentor others.
  • Extensive experience designing advanced technical assessments and conducting technical interviews.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the latest big data trends and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced certifications in big data technologies or related fields.
  • Significant experience in a technical hiring or technical assessment role.
  • Leadership or managerial experience in a big data team, with a proven track record of mentoring and guiding team members.
  • Experience contributing to open-source big data projects or communities.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based big data solutions (e.g., AWS EMR, Google BigQuery, Azure HDInsight).
  • Knowledge of performance optimization techniques for big data processing and storage.
