Position Summary:
The Senior Communications Manager is a strategic leader responsible for articulating and safeguarding the Airbus narrative across diverse stakeholder groups. The position holder will serve as an advisor to the leadership and deputise for the Head of Regional Business Growth and Communications. As part of the International Communications team, the job holder will support internal and external communications activities for all divisions and functions in the India and South Asia region, in support of business campaigns, corporate priorities and Airbus India - Air India joint venture communication needs. The job holder will be responsible for managing relations with the media in the markets covered, liaising with communications teams at customers, as well as supporting social media activities. He / she will master content production for Airbus channels and organisation of local events, with the support of a local PR agency, and also assist in internal comms.
Key Responsibilities
Design and lead communication roadmaps that align with Airbus’s global vision, sustainability goals and market positioning in India and South Asia.
Act as a trusted consultant to senior leadership, providing expert guidance on high-stakes change management, crisis communication, and internal positioning.
Design, develop and execute in collaboration with business lines and functions high-impact narratives for global internal and external audiences.
Proactively identify potential brand risks and develop robust reactive messaging frameworks to protect the organisation’s license to operate.
Deliver with relevant teams high-impact events and conferences to advance the brand.
Live and nurture a strong link between Region and Headquarters and vice-versa.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Communications, International Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
15+ years of experience in corporate communications, with at least 5 years in a leadership or strategic advisory capacity within a global matrixed organisation.
Proven versatility in mastering the full set of 360 degree communications (print / broadcast / web & social)
Proven track record of managing communications across diverse geographies, cultures, and regulatory environments.
Mastery of writing and content development for C-suite executives, with the ability to work with digital tools for story-telling.
Native-level command of English. Knowledge of multiple Indian languages is highly valued for regional impact.
Experience with events and logistics.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong experience in the aerospace and defense sector.
Demonstrated experience leading communications through major industry shifts or crisis scenarios.
Background in public relations and branding with an understanding of how corporate messaging intersects with geopolitical narratives.
Experience leveraging data analytics to monitor, evaluate and optimise the performance of multi-channel communication activities.
Good understanding of AI capabilities
Experience with Salesforce CRM and MarketingCloud is an advantage
