We’re hiring a Senior HR Manager to run HR for our India offices from start to finish: hiring, onboarding and exits, compliance and policy. Our India team is growing and a lot of our HR groundwork is still being built. You’ll organize things that are currently handled case by case, set up the legally required frameworks and get our HR systems working properly.
This is a hands-on leadership role in a small team. An HR Specialist will support you, and you’ll work closely with our Facilities, Business Operations Manager and Lead IT and Network Engineer.

NOTE:
  • Candidates must be open to work within USA time zones EST/EDT and PST/PDT hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own hiring results for India roles, such as time-to-fill and quality of hire. Oversee the day-to-day pipeline work the HR Specialist runs.
  • Lead offer structuring and negotiations with candidates.
  • Own onboarding from start to finish. Set the timeline and content (paperwork, orientation, policy walkthrough). Facilities and IT follow that plan for desk, device and access setup.
  • Own offboarding from start to finish, including exit interviews. Tell Facilities and IT when to remove access and collect company equipment.
  • Support fair, well-documented performance processes run by team managers. Step in if someone says a process was unfair.
  • Refine and maintain India HR policies (leave, conduct, performance, exit, POSH and other legally required policies) as the team grows.
  • Own India HR compliance: statutory filings, following labour law and working with our payroll and finance compliance vendors.
  • Set up and run India’s HR committees. This includes the POSH Internal Committee the law requires (forming it, naming members, training them and holding the required meetings). It also includes grievance and employee engagement committees, each with a written charter and a meeting schedule.
  • Work with the Operations Manager on office administration, the upcoming office move and vendor coordination. Review how things are done, point out gaps and put proper processes in place.
  • Find and fix friction where HR and office operations overlap, such as getting new hires set up on day one.
  • Get the team fully using Zoho People. Start with complete and accurate employee data, then build out leave, records and onboarding workflows.
  • Check whether Zoho People still fits as the team uses it more, and recommend alternatives if gaps appear.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Must-Have Skills
  • 8+ years in HR, including 3+ years leading HR (as a generalist or HRBP) for an India entity or office
  • 5+ years of experience in a software development/SaaS/Adtech organisation
  • Strong working knowledge of Indian labour law and statutory compliance (PF, ESI, gratuity, Shops & Establishments, POSH Act)
  • Hands-on experience setting up or running a POSH Internal Committee
  • Has owned recruitment from start to finish, including offer negotiation for technical and/or creative roles
  • A track record of writing and rolling out new HR policies, not just maintaining existing ones
  • Experience setting up or improving an HR system (Zoho People, Keka, greytHR, Darwinbox or similar)
  • Experience managing payroll and compliance vendors
  • Comfortable building processes from scratch at a growing company
  • Clear written and spoken English, including working with US-based colleagues
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience at a tech, ad tech, SaaS or creative/animation company
  • Experience at the India arm of a US-headquartered company
  • Exposure to office administration, facilities or office moves
  • Experience managing or mentoring HR team members
  • Certification in HR management or POSH training
