Accountabilities:
To provide pro-active and effective legal and contractual support to the business and operations activities of the Indian Business Unit (BU) and legal department, Finance and Procurement Department.
▪ Review, administer, and manage Service, Supply, EPC, and Subcontract Agreements throughout the contract lifecycle.
▪ Develop a thorough understanding of contract structure, commercial terms, obligations, milestones, deliverables, and risk allocation mechanisms.
▪ Support commercial and contractual negotiations with clients, vendors, and subcontractors leading to execution, amendment, renewal, and closure of contracts.
▪ Maintain and administer all contractual records, correspondence, notices, approvals, change orders, variations, claims, and contractual documentation in a systematic manner.
▪ Monitor contractual compliance relating to milestones, deliverables, performance obligations, invoicing, payments, guarantees, securities, LDs, and other contractual commitments.
▪ Coordinate with internal stakeholders including Project, Procurement, Legal, Finance, Supply Chain, and Business teams to ensure timely contract execution and compliance.
▪ Identify contractual risks, bottlenecks, deviations, and potential disputes; proactively recommend mitigation measures to safeguard the Company's commercial and contractual interests.
▪ Support project teams in the preparation, evaluation, defense, and settlement of contractual claims, variations, extensions of time (EOT), and dispute resolution matters.
▪ Track material supply obligations, reconcile contractual quantities in coordination with Supply Chain teams, and support contract closure, renewals, and extensions.
▪ Ensure timely issuance, review, and response to contractual correspondence with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
▪ Prepare management MIS, Monthly Progress Reports (MPRs), contractual status reports, budgets, forecasts, dashboards, and other project monitoring reports.
▪ Prepare business presentations, commercial analyses, approval notes, contractual assessments, and management briefs with strong drafting capabilities.
▪ Maintain contract registers, risk registers, correspondence trackers, and document repositories ensuring audit readiness and compliance.
▪ Possess working knowledge of ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or equivalent platforms for contract administration and procurement processes.
▪ Demonstrate a sound understanding of the end-to-end procurement and contract management lifecycle.
▪ Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, statutory obligations, and applicable regulatory provisions.
▪ Responsible for timely preparation, verification, submission, and tracking of client invoices in line with contractual milestones and deliverables. Coordinate with Finance, Project, and Procurement teams for verification, processing, and monitoring of vendor/subcontractor payments in accordance with contractual terms and approved work completion.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Educational Qualifications
- Any Engineering degree/ LLB degree
- Should have mandatorily worked in Contracts function and have exposure to negotiations and contracts management.
Functional Skills
- Exposure to Contracting of Power / Energy Projects (AMI projects would be added advantage).
Relevant and total years of Experience
- Overall experience of 3-5 years, including a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the Power Sector.
