Summary:
The Pediatric Psycho-Oncology Program (PPOP) Coordinator plays a pivotal role in advancing psychosocial care for children and families affected by cancer. This position is central to designing, implementing, and sustaining a comprehensive, multidisciplinary psychological support system across clinical, hospital, and community settings. The role ensures that emotional, psychological, and developmental needs are met throughout the cancer journey—from diagnosis and treatment to palliative care and bereavement. By integrating evidence-based interventions, expressive therapies, and family-centered support, the coordinator enhances patient resilience, strengthens care team collaboration, and fosters a healing environment. The position also drives capacity building, research, and program evaluation, contributing to sustainable impact and organizational growth within the pediatric oncology ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, and implement the Pediatric Psycho-Oncology Program (PPOP) in alignment with clinical and organizational goals.
- Design and support protocols, policies, and administrative frameworks for psychological services.
- Deliver psychological interventions via face-to-face, telephonic, and online platforms across all treatment phases (diagnosis, treatment, relapse, palliative, bereavement).
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments using psychometric tools, interviews, and observational methods.
- Develop individualized treatment plans, monitor progress, and provide ongoing follow-ups and referrals.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
- Lead and facilitate Sharing & Caring Sessions for parents and medical teams.
- Implement expressive therapies including play, art, music, storytelling, relaxation techniques, and clown therapy.
- Deliver non-pharmacological procedural pain interventions to support child-friendly care.
- Promote child life interventions through therapeutic environments, libraries, and wish-granting initiatives.
- Conduct psycho-education sessions for patients and parents on stress management, behavioral challenges, and coping strategies.
- Provide psychological consultation and support to healthcare team members.
- Lead the implementation and monitoring of the “You Are Not Alone” (YANA) Program.
- Deliver training and capacity-building programs for psychologists, social workers, students, and allied professionals.
- Design and conduct research projects to evaluate psychological interventions and contribute to evidence-based practice.
- Maintain accurate case records, manage online patient data, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Develop patient case studies and programmatic reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Build and maintain directories of external support services and facilitate access to counseling and rehabilitation resources.
- Engage in cross-functional projects and organizational initiatives as required by the Reporting Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Reporting Manager.
Requirements

- Master’s degree in Psychology (MA in Psychology)
- 1–3 years of experience in clinical, counseling, or pediatric psychology, preferably in healthcare or NGO environments
- Proven skills in psychological assessment, individual and group therapy, and evidence-based interventions
- Experience in delivering expressive therapies (e.g., play, art, music, storytelling) and child life support
- Proficiency in documentation, data management, and case reporting
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and counseling abilities with a collaborative mindset
- Familiarity with healthcare systems and psychological diagnostic tools
- Demonstrated adaptability, leadership, and commitment to change management
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and handle sensitive, high-stress situations with empathy and professionalism
