Job Summary
Iron Mountain is seeking a skilled and motivated Level 2 Network Implementation Engineer to join our Network Infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing, configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting critical network infrastructure across our Data Center and enterprise environments. You will join a collaborative, fast-paced team of engineers dedicated to delivering reliable, high-performance network services that keep our global business securely connected.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
Implement and Migrate Network Infrastructure: Onboard, deploy, and configure network routers, switches, firewalls, and Wide Area Network devices, managing critical Layer 2/Layer 3 technologies and routing protocols to ensure timely service delivery per Service Level Agreements.
Collaborate Across Teams and Vendors: Coordinate seamlessly with the Network Operations Center, Service Desk, field engineers, customers, and external Original Equipment Manufacturers and telecom vendors to provision links and efficiently resolve escalated implementation or migration issues.
Ensure Security and Performance Compliance: Maintain strict organizational standards by implementing firewalls and Web Application Firewalls, performing network security audits, reviewing system logs, and conducting precise health checks and bandwidth validations.
What You’ll Bring
The ideal candidate will have:
Proven Domain Experience: Strong, hands-on experience in network implementation, data center operations, and executing complex network migration activities.
Deep Technical Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol concepts, Virtual Local Area Networks, routing protocols (Border Gateway Protocol, Open Shortest Path First), and configuring Multiprotocol Label Switching, Virtual Private Networks, and firewalls.
Analytical and Interaction Skills: Exceptional troubleshooting, diagnostic, and analytical abilities paired with excellent communication, vendor coordination, and customer-handling skills.
Professional Certifications: A Cisco Certified Network Associate or Cisco Certified Network Professional certification, or Fortinet Network Security Expert certifications.
