Manager, Programmatic Revenue

Job Description

Goal: 
To improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our digital advertising operations while continuing to offer students our world class education products as affordably as possible. 

Role: Manager, Programmatic Revenue 

As a manager of a dynamic programmatic monetization solution, your goal will be to develop and empower a team to further our programmatic footprint across Chegg. This role will be integral in the planning and execution of strategy, monetization, and ad tech operations.

As Programmatic Revenue Manager, you will directly manage a team of analysts. Your success will be measured by the outcome of initiatives you pursue and the revenue goals we are able to achieve. You will rally teams of engineers, data scientists and product leaders around common goals, and get things done using a combination of creativity, communication and people skills. 

Qualified candidates will have 5+ years of ad tech experience and a strong familiarity with header bidding and open exchange monetization, a curiosity around new trends in programmatic technology and a passion for big data. 

What you’ll be working on: 

• Leading a team on programmatic revenue initiatives in order to accomplish business goals 

• Managing a team of analysts, defining goals in line with business objectives as well as helping team members achieve career goals  

• Training and coaching a team of analysts on programmatic operations, data analysis, partner relationships and revenue strategy 

• Evaluating and guiding the design and execution of A/B tests while vetting the analysis done by the team 

• Evaluating current processes and overhaul where necessary to drive efficiencies and improve team performance 

• Collaborating with other Chegg business units and leaders to help them achieve their goals with programmatic advertising 

• Ideating and implementing programmatic optimizations and partnerships to improve revenue 

• Planning 3-6 month roadmaps with senior leadership 

• Prioritizing and assigning bi-weekly sprint initiatives for analysts 

• Reporting on initiative updates and revenue performance to Chegg leadership 

Requirements: 

• 5+ years of programmatic ad tech experience (firm understanding of the programmatic auction mechanics, marketplace, vendors, and third-party technologies) 

• Proven people management skills and a passion for developing a team 

• Goal oriented and motivated by contributing to improving ad performance 

• Demonstrate ability to plan, organize and execute ad tech initiatives and operations 

• Strong command over large data sets and a deeply analytical mindset (including product and user experience) that leads to the right questions being asked. 

• Highly organized, detailed orientated and have the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic and fast-pace work environment  

• Have the ability to communicate effectively with a can-do, positive attitude and a strong desire to get things done 

• Strong analytical background in Excel and/or Google Sheets using formulas (Lookups, Array Formula, Conditional Logic) 

• Experience with SQL preferred
