About the Role
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on complex and challenging projects that have a direct impact on our business. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to identify business needs and develop technical solutions that drive results. Your expertise in fullstack development, data science, and financial markets will enable you to make a significant contribution to our team and help drive business success.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement fullstack applications that automate and streamline processes, improving efficiency and reducing risk.
- Develop and Manage backend systems primarily using Python, with additional capabilities in Java and other languages.
- Develop and manage frontend applications primarily using React and Next.js, with additional capabilities in JavaScript and other frameworks.
- Design and implement core backend services and systems to serve other applications using high performance programming languages such as java.
- Demonstrate a strong ability to understand and apply software architecture patterns, including microservices and event-driven architecture, to design robust and scalable solutions.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions that meet business requirements and goals.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, including business leaders and external partners.
- Rapid response to issues as they arise, with the ability to drive quickly to the heart of an issue and propose appropriate solutions.
- Manage work and processes across multiple sites.
- Maintain discipline in coding practice while ensuring timely delivery of end solutions.
Technical Expertise
- Proficiency in Python is required, with familiarity in other programming languages such as Java, C++, Go, Rust, and others being advantageous.
- Strong understanding of software architecture patterns, including microservices and event-driven architecture.
- Familiarity with containerisation using Docker, and experience with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies and experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with frontend technologies, including React and Next.js, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with data science and analytics techniques, including machine learning and statistical modelling.
- Experience with database management systems, including relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with Dash or other UI frameworks is a nice to have.
