In this role, you’ll serve as the subject matter expert for all things related to legal billing oversight, cost analysis, and spend optimization. You’ll work closely with Finance and Legal teams to streamline processes, reduce legal spend, and ensure billing accuracy across multiple vendors and law firms.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives on detail, understands U.S. legal billing structures, and enjoys finding smarter, more efficient ways to manage costs.

  • Analyze trends and identify opportunities for cost-savings, to optimize legal expense management.
  • Develop and administer legal expense policies and procedures, including budgeting and a defined approval process prior to expenses being incurred.
  • Review and validate legal expenses, identifying and appropriately escalating any invoicing errors/discrepancies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with outside attorneys and other vendors, negotiating favorable terms and resolving any issues.
  • Track and monitor legal expenses on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Propose cost-saving strategies to management to enable cost efficiency and effective financial planning.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Law, Finance, or a related field.
  • Must be a U.S. paralegal or have equivalent experience within a U.S. law firm or corporate legal department.
  • 3–7 years of experience in legal billing, legal operations, or outside counsel management.
  • Hands-on experience with U.S. legal billing systems such as Legal Tracker, Collaborati, CounselLink, SimpleLegal, or other e-billing tools.
  • Proven experience reviewing LEDES invoices, UTBMS codes, rate cards, and outside counsel guideline (OCG) compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience identifying billing discrepancies, unauthorized charges, and cost inefficiencies.
  • Experience with billing dispute resolution, budget tracking, and matter management.
  • 100% fluency in English, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams).
  • Familiarity with task management tools (e.g., Monday.com).
  • Must have your own laptop or desktop (company does not supply equipment).

Benefits
    • CONTRACT/CONSULTANCY POSITION
    • Salary: 1500-2000USD
    • PTO Available
    • Fully Remote / Work From Home
