Leads shift-based production operations by monitoring safety, quality, staffing, productivity, and availability KPIs. Ensures labor, materials, supplies, and equipment support production targets; conducts audits and standard-work activities; investigates accidents and customer complaints; implements corrective actions; manages staffing, absenteeism, overtime, budgets, and team performance. Assigns and supervises Team Leaders, identifies training needs, supports onboarding and job rotation, maintains skill matrices, and applies escalation and built-in quality practices.
Key Accountabilities
- Monitor operational KPIs Compliance (safety, quality, headcount, jobs per hour, performance rate (PR), operational availability (OA)).
- Plan and execute defined strategies to achieve targets set in GL Board.
- Ensure conditions for production are in place including labor, materials, supplies and equipment (line side inventory, staffing, absenteeism, etc.).
- Conduct safety audits, 5S, safety walk, SOS cards, SOA cards, Std work , etc..
- Execute and support the analysis of recordable accidents and confirm the implementation of corrective and preventive actions using problem solving methodology.
- Execute and support the analysis of customer complaints and confirm the implementation of corrective and preventive actions using problem solving methodology.
- Ensure compliance of defined tools and practices such as: Machine Care, Standard Work, Poka-Yoke management, JQM, etc.
- Identify training needs and make plan to close gaps •Assign work to Team Leader and supervise their performance.
- Train TL to conduct OJT, Job rotation & Plan Vs actual. Confirm skill matrix are getting updated.
- Temporal coverage
- Covers the role of another GL during absences.
- Participate in the Operating Way meetings that applied to your position. Incidental Work
- Control the budget of the cost center.
- Manage staffing over time and absenteeism.
- Understand, comprehend, and apply the Stop, Call & Wait, ANDON and/or the applicable escalation process.
- Ensure compliance with product requirements. (built-in quality culture: don't generate, don't receive, don't send).
Academic & Experience
Diploma/B.E/B. Tech Proven (+8 years) in operational activity and handling team into shifts.
