Key Responsibilities
- Design, oversee, and maintain spatial databases, ensuring data accuracy and integrity throughout all projects.
- Perform advanced geoprocessing and spatial modeling utilizing QGIS, and translate the results into practical insights.
- Create, customize, and support QGIS plugins and extensions to meet specific project requirements.
- Automate geospatial analysis workflows with Python (PyQGIS) to enhance efficiency and reproducibility.
- Produce high-quality cartographic maps and visualizations for use in reports, presentations, and decision-making.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members to gather requirements and develop geospatial solutions.
- Effectively communicate complex technical information both orally and in writing to internal teams and external stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of QGIS, including spatial database management, geoprocessing, and map creation.
- Strong Python skills with practical experience automating processes within QGIS using PyQGIS.
- Comprehensive understanding of spatial projections, coordinate systems, and data transformations.
- Demonstrated capability to customize QGIS through plugin development or scripting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven experience producing professional cartographic outputs tailored to diverse decision-making scenarios.
- Outstanding organizational abilities and attention to detail while handling multiple project priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with remote or distributed teams that support external clients.
- Familiarity with other open-source GIS tools or cloud-based geospatial platforms.
