Job Overview
We are seeking an SAP S/4HANA Finance Asset Accounting Functional Engineer responsible for the analysis, configuration, and implementation of Asset Accounting and Project Systems in SAP S/4HANA landscape. The role focuses on improving the Capex planning, and execution of Asset operations to streamline Finance efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Solution Design:
- Gather and analyze business requirements from stakeholders.
- Design solutions within an SAP ECC or S4 landscape with a primary focus on Asset Accounting (AA) and the integration with Investment Management (IM) and Project Systems (PS) to address Capital requirements.
- Configuration & Implementation:
- Own the configuration and delivery of SAP Asset Accounting (AA) solutions, including the necessary collaboration with technical partners where required (Ie. Developers: ABAP, Integration; Architects; Infrastructure; Etc..) .
- Integrate Asset Accounting with other SAP modules where applicable and ensure Tax ledgers are setup to support the different GAAP requirements including IFRS.
- Process Optimization:
- Streamline Capex and asset accounting to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Leverage SAP Fiori, embedded analytics, and SAP BW/4HANA to provide real-time insights on asset lifecycle, capital expenditures, and depreciation trends
- Leverage embedded analytics to provide insights into Capex and Asset Accounting KPIs.
- Testing & Deployment:
- Develop test cases and perform all system testing.
- Support QA Automation engineers to fulfill our goal of 80% Test Automation in our critical applications landscape. Experience with Tricentis is an asset.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure smooth system deployment.
- Integration & Interfaces:
- Work with interfaces to communicate with external carriers and third-party systems as required.
- Ensure smooth integration of SAP PS and AA with non-SAP systems if required.
- Support & Maintenance:
- Provide ongoing support and training to end users.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to capital and asset accounting processes.
Required Skills:
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA Project Accounting and Asset Accounting architecture.
- Hands-on experience with SAP IM, PS and SAP AA configuration and implementation.
- Proficiency in SAP configuration and development, including knowledge of ABAP programming, HANA, CDS (Core Data Services), SQL, SAP ODATA, and web-based development skills like SAPUI5 and Fiori.
- Domain Knowledge:
- Deep knowledge of Finance, Capital and Asset Accounting processes, including compliance and tax requirements for Assets under IFRS.
- Extensive experience (typically 8-10 years) in SAP, particularly in S/4HANA Finance modules, with a strong emphasis on Asset Accounting and Project Accounting
- Integration Skills:
- Familiarity with IM, PS and AA integration with different SAP modules
- Experience with middleware tools and interface technologies (e.g., SAP PI/PO, APIs).
- Analytical Skills:
- Ability to analyze complex project and asset accounting scenarios and propose optimized solutions.
- Strong data analytics capabilities, with the ability to derive insights and propose solutions to drive business outcomes.
- Experience with predictive analytics for asset lifecycles and emerging SAP S/4HANA functionalities is a plus.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Effective project management and documentation capabilities.
- Proven track record of working on large-scale, global manufacturing projects, demonstrating the ability to manage complexities and deliver results within specified timelines.
- Exceptional presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical and financial information clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong project and change management capabilities, adept at managing multiple projects with conflicting priorities.

Key Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
