Lead DataStage developer responsible for production support and enhancements: resolve incidents, perform root-cause analysis, implement CRs, develop and optimize DataStage jobs, tune Oracle SQL and UNIX processes, manage scheduling with Control-M, and follow SDLC and release procedures while interfacing with clients.
Summary Experienced Datastage Developer (Production Support & Enhancements) — responsible for resolving production defects, delivering enhancements, and interfacing with clients. Must be strong in IBM DataStage, Oracle, UNIX, Control-M scheduling, and analytical problem solving. Snowflake experience is a plus. Required technical skills - IBM InfoSphere DataStage (developer & admin familiarity) — job design, parallel jobs, parameterization, shared containers, etc. - Strong Oracle SQL and PL/SQL skills — query tuning, indexes, partitioning awareness. - Solid UNIX/Linux skills — shell scripting, job logs, file handling and basic process troubleshooting. - Production scheduling with Control M (or similar) — job definitions, dependencies, calendars, alerts. - Proven experience diagnosing and resolving production ETL issues under SLA pressure. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to trace data flow and isolate defects across systems. - Experience with version control, CICD/release processes and deployment across environments. - Good written and verbal communication; comfortable in client-facing situations. Key responsibilities - Own and resolve DataStage production incidents and bugs end-to-end, including root-cause analysis, fixes, regression testing, and deployment to production. - Implement and test enhancement requests and change requests (CRs) in the DataStage environment following SDLC and release processes. - Design, develop, and optimize DataStage jobs and parallel jobs for batch and real-time data integration scenarios. - Perform performance tuning of DataStage jobs, database SQL (Oracle), and UNIX processes to meet SLAs. - Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain production ETL pipelines; respond to alerts and follow incident management procedures. - Work with Control M (or equivalent schedulers) to design, monitor and maintain job schedules and dependencies; troubleshoot scheduling failures.
