Assistant Manager - Business Analytics

Build and maintain executive dashboards, MIS reports, and automated analytics for sales, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and projects. Analyze business performance, explain variances, track KPIs, prepare leadership and Board materials, support business cases and scenario models, and improve data governance. The role also validates data, resolves discrepancies, documents reporting logic, and partners with IT and digitization teams on integrations and analytics automation.
Purpose of the Role
This role turns data from across Vikram Solar into the numbers, dashboards and insights the CMDO uses to review performance and take decisions. The incumbent builds and maintains the business analytics layer for the CMDO Office, covering sales, manufacturing, supply chain, finance and projects. The role also prepares review material for the CMDO, management meetings and the Board, and flags trends, risks and gaps early, so that leadership gets one reliable version of the facts.
Key Responsibilities1. MIS, Dashboards and Reporting
- Design, build and maintain executive dashboards and MIS packs for the CMDO covering sales and order book, production and yield, supply chain, finance and project status.
- Consolidate data from ERP (SAP), HRMS, plant systems and functional trackers into a single, validated reporting view.
- Automate recurring weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to cut manual effort and turnaround time.
2. Business Performance Analysis
- Analyse performance against budget, plan and prior periods; explain variances in revenue, margin, cost, capacity utilisation and delivery.
- Track key business KPIs across plants and functions, and highlight deviations with probable causes.
- Support market, competitor and industry benchmarking, including module pricing, capacity and technology trends.
3. CMDO Review and Decision Support
- Prepare data-backed presentations and briefing notes for CMDO reviews, leadership meetings, investor and Board discussions.
- Support business cases, capex proposals, what-if and scenario models on request.
- Follow up on review action points with functions and report closure status to the CMDO Office.
4. Data Governance and Quality
- Define KPI definitions and data owners with functional teams so that everyone reports from one version of the truth.
- Run checks on data accuracy and completeness; resolve discrepancies at source with function owners.
- Maintain documentation of data sources, logic and report calendars.
5. Continuous Improvement
- Identify analytics and automation opportunities (Power BI, Python, SQL) and drive them to completion.
- Work with IT & Digital and the Process & Digitization team on data integration and tool adoption.
