Job Summary

The future is bright for the Porch Group, and we’d love for you to be a part of it as our Accountant.

Porch’s goal is to be the partner that makes home ownership simple and convenient. As part of the Finance and Accounting shared services team, this role supports accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and scalable accounting processes. The Accountant will work closely with cross-functional and U.S.-based teams while supporting month-end, quarter-end, and audit activities as Porch continues to grow its operations.

What You Will Do As An Accountant

  • Perform professional accounting activities related to general accounting, fixed assets, capitalized software, and operational accounting

  • Prepare and review monthly and quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations

  • Review work performed by accounting staff including invoices, vendor details, journal entries, and reconciliations

  • Review and analyze financial data and assist with preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports

  • Ensure accuracy, proper documentation, and compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and accounting standards

  • Partner with managers and internal teams to maintain and improve accounting processes and controls

  • Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and support internal and external audits

  • Support management with ad hoc accounting and reporting requests

What You Will Bring As An Accountant

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience in a corporate accounting environment

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a corporate accounting or finance role

  • Prior experience with SOX compliance

  • Experience with capitalized software accounting is a plus

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Proven experience working with US based business teams

  • Excellent written and communication skills in English language

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Experience with NetSuite and FloQast is a plus

  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic, virtual environment

  • 8 hours (excluding breaks)
    4 Core US Hours Overlap (7:30pm – 11:30pm IST)
    4 flexible hours (IST)

  • Workspace: A quiet space to work, with an internet connection of at least 30 Mbps download | 10 Mbps upload

What You Will Get As A Porch Group Team Member

Pay Range*: 1,068,00 - 1,496,300 INR Annually
