Provides technical leadership across teams by designing and delivering large backend initiatives, modernizing monolithic systems into modular architectures, and establishing standards for APIs, data, testing, security, observability, deployment, and reliability. Leads production operations, incident response, AI-assisted engineering adoption, technical roadmap decisions, mentorship, and technical debt reduction. The role emphasizes scalable backend platforms, cross-team influence, and architecture strategy.

Build, test, ship, and operate production backend features using Ruby/Rails, Go, or other modern languages. Design APIs, background jobs, integrations, data models, migrations, and services while ensuring security, performance, maintainability, and observability. Review code, improve automated testing, investigate deployment and runtime failures, address technical debt, participate in operational support, collaborate asynchronously with cross-functional partners, and use AI coding tools responsibly.

Build and scale GitLab’s partner-sourced and influenced revenue in India across hyperscalers, system integrators, cloud-native partners, and AI-native partners. Own strategic relationships, AWS/GCP Marketplace motions, joint business plans, QBRs, partner enablement, pipeline generation, bookings, and quota attainment. Collaborate with sales, marketing, and APJ ecosystem teams while helping shape India’s partner coverage model and transitioning relationships from transactional to strategic.

The Staff Infrastructure Security Engineer will lead security initiatives, set architectural patterns, conduct security reviews, and mentor engineers while ensuring security in cloud infrastructures for GitLab.

Lead and grow a distributed Solutions Architecture team for India, acting as a player-coach on strategic pre-sales engagements. Drive technical evaluations, demos, workshops, and POCs, align cross-functionally with Sales, Channel, Product and Enablement, manage workload and headcount planning, define KPIs, and hire and develop high-performing Solutions Architects to scale regional execution.

Partner with APJ Sales and Revenue teams to manage quote-to-cash: review and validate Salesforce quotes, CPQ configurations, order forms, and contracts; advise on deal structure and pricing; troubleshoot quoting and booking issues; collaborate with Billing, AR, Revenue, and Legal to ensure accurate ARR reporting and compliant bookings.
