Systems Administrator (Azure-Heavy)
Purpose
Provide day-to-day administration for Azure and core infrastructure that underpins D365, Power Platform, and integrations.
What the role does
- Manages Azure resources: VMs, App Services, Functions, VNets, storage, backup/DR, ensuring availability and cost control.
- Supports on-prem / hybrid Windows Server infrastructure (AD, DNS, file services, legacy apps) alongside the Windows Admin.
- Implements monitoring and alerting (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, possibly Sentinel) and builds basic runbook automation for common tasks.
- Works with DevSecOps and app teams to provision and maintain consistent, repeatable dev/test/UAT/prod environments.
- Acts as secondary admin for M365 and endpoint services to provide backup coverage when the Windows Admin is unavailable.
- Participates in an on-call rotation for critical infrastructure incidents.
Skills & experience
- 4+ years in infrastructure roles managing Azure and Windows Server environments.
- Strong, hands-on Azure experience (IaaS and PaaS) plus solid Windows Server background.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (Bicep/ARM/Terraform) is highly preferred.
- Able to troubleshoot networking, identity, and performance issues in cloud and hybrid setups.
Stabilize / Standardize / Supercharge
Provides the infrastructure backbone for everything else – stable environments, predictable operations, and a base for further automation.
