Position Summary
Plug Power Inc. is actively seeking a highly motivated Intern. The Intern will be responsible for assisting the Civil & Mechanical Engineering Department in a wide variety of initiatives and projects in support of the department’s projects. In this role, you will gain exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment which includes developing a detailed understanding of Plug Power’s products. The role will focus on the successful completion of technical projects, process improvement, documentation, and presentation of results at the end of the program.
Position Summary/Learning Objectives:
- Apply Engineering Principles: Gaining hands-on experience in applying fundamental principles of structural analysis and design to real projects.
- Interpret Technical Drawings and Codes: Develop the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, design codes (EU only), and specifications relevant to structural engineering.
- Conduct Analysis of small structures: Develop skills in performing load calculations to ensure structural integrity and compliance with codes.
- Utilize Engineering Software: Learn and practice using industry-standard structural analysis and design software (e.g., STAAD Pro, AutoCAD) to support task 3 above
- Reporting – Develop skills of creating thorough calculation reports.
Core Duties & Responsibilities –
- Assist in design calculations
- Review technical drawings and check prints
- Observe & learn industry practices for Structural engineering
- Support software modeling and simulations using structural analysis tools like STAAD pro
- Assist in calculations report preparation.
- Coordinate with team members & collaboration
- Adhere to Plug India employee policies
- Completing internship projects with reports
Education and Experience
- BE/BTech in Civil Engineering – Fresher.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Possess solid hands-on approach to problem-solving
- Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively
- Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
- Excellent follow-through
- Must be driven and self-motivated
- Must possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality
Estimated Base Salary Range:
$21.00 - $25.00
