 Senior Scrum Master (Banking & Financial Services)

Location: Pune / Hyderabad / Mohali

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Scrum Master with at least 7 years of experience to lead high-performing agile teams in the development of mission-critical, enterprise-level financial applications. You will be responsible for fostering an environment of continuous improvement, removing systemic blockers, and ensuring the delivery of robust, compliant, and scalable software solutions.

The ideal candidate understands the complexities of the Banking and Finance domain, including the necessity for rigorous security standards, regulatory compliance, and high-availability architecture.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand-up, Sprint Planning, Retrospectives, and Reviews) for multiple cross-functional teams ensuring they are productive and timeboxed.
• Remove impediments blockers hindering team progress.
• Evangelize Agile values and principles across the department, helping to mature the organization’s overall Agile mindset.
• Apply knowledge of financial workflows (e.g., payments, trading, risk management, or retail banking) to help teams navigate technical and business constraints.
• Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring the Product Backlog is healthy and refined.
• Promote a safe collaborative and high performing team environment.
• Faciliates all Scrum ceremonies.
• Serves as a coach to the Product Owner and Development Team in self-organization and cross-functionality.
• Protect team from outside interference and maintain focus on sprint goals.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7 years as a dedicated Scrum Master within a software development environment.
• Industry Focus: Proven track record in the Banking or Financial Services sector, with a solid understanding of the regulatory landscape (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS, SOX).
• Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) for enterprise-level applications, including CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and microservices.
• Expert-level proficiency with Jira, Confluence, or similar Enterprise Agile Planning tools.
• Certifications: Professional Scrum Master (PSM II/III) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM/A-CSM). SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) certification is highly preferred.

Mandatory Skills:

• Stakeholder Management, Benefits Management, Project Planning, Scope & Change Management, Schedule Management.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Scaled Agile (SAFe, LeSS, or DaD) in a large corporate environment.
• Background in software engineering or business analysis within fintech.
