What You’ll Do
The Senior SAP Engineer – Platform will be responsible for designing, configuring, operating, and optimizing SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) environments that support large‑scale enterprise SAP landscapes. You will ensure seamless integration between BTP and core SAP systems such as S/4HANA and ECC, while maintaining a secure, reliable, and well‑governed platform foundation for product teams, engineering groups, and business applications.
You will work across the following areas:
Security & Identity
- Design and maintain Platform Trust Configuration, including certificate‑based trust setups and secure token flows
- Configure and operate SAP Cloud Identity Services (IAS/IPS) for authentication, provisioning, lifecycle management, and federation
- Implement principal propagation, enabling secure identity flow across BTP ↔ S/4HANA/ECC and cloud interfaces
- Design and support Single Sign‑On (SSO) architectures, including corporate IdP integrations, proxies, and hybrid identity landscapes
- Govern platform‑wide role, role collection, and authorization models
BTP Services & Provisioning
- Manage entitlements, subaccount planning, and environment segmentation
- Provision and maintain service instances and service keys across development, test, and production environments
- Architect and support the following key services:
- Job Scheduler
- SAP HANA Cloud
- Cloud Transport Management Service (CTMS)
- Cloud Logging Service
Connectivity & Integration
- Configure and maintain Destinations for system‑to‑system connectivity, API consumption, and secure service access
- Install, configure, and maintain Cloud Connector instances to enable hybrid connectivity between BTP and on‑prem SAP systems
- Ensure high‑availability, secure tunnels, and proper resource access governance
Platform Management & Operations
- Operate and optimize the Cloud Management Service, monitoring subaccount health, resource utilization, and operational stability
- Use BTP CLI and CF CLI for platform operations, automation, and scripted environment management
- Enforce platform governance standards, naming conventions, and environment consistency
- Support troubleshooting across the entire platform stack—including identity, services, connectivity, and application runtime issues
DevOps & Automation
- Automate platform provisioning and service configuration using Terraform for BTP
- Build and support CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, integrating transports, quality checks, and deployment orchestration
- Manage Cloud Transport Management Service (CTMS) pipelines for multi‑environment delivery
- Implement operational automation and ensure repeatable, compliant, auditable infrastructure patterns
You will serve as a platform SME, collaborating with application teams, security teams, architects, and integration specialists to ensure SAP BTP is delivered as a secure, scalable, and high‑performing enterprise platform.
