Job Description

- Leadership & Team Development
- Guide the quarterly and annual planning processes, setting clear objectives, deliverables, and key results for global teams.
- Mentor and support team members through career development opportunities, continuous feedback, and tailored coaching.

- Spearhead hiring efforts to attract and retain top engineering talent across Kubernetes, public cloud, and system engineering domains.
- Conduct performance reviews and develop tailored growth plans for team members.
- Technical Strategy & Execution
- Provide technical direction to optimize the performance, reliability, and scalability of Kubernetes clusters and public cloud environments.
- Lead architectural reviews and define best practices for container orchestration, cloud-native operations, and system engineering.
- Develop strategies for integrating public cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) with existing systems and drive digital transformation initiatives.
- Assess and mitigate risks to ensure continuous high availability and operational excellence across all platforms.
- Collaborate with security teams to implement compliance, governance, and best practices for Kubernetes clusters and public cloud deployments.
- Cross-Team Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to align infrastructure priorities with business and product objectives.
- Represent the IDC Systems Engineering and Public Cloud teams both internally and externally, advocating for strategic infrastructure investments.
- Engage with vendors, open-source communities, and industry experts to stay at the forefront of Kubernetes, cloud, and system engineering innovations.
- Work closely with leadership to define and execute a unified strategy across public cloud, system engineering, and kubernetes environments.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you have:
- 10+ years of experience in infrastructure, system engineering, or related fields, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes, Cloud-native Technologies and Core Infrastructure components(Network, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, CDN).
- Proven experience managing and scaling distributed systems, including mastery of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing, global engineering teams and drive technical roadmaps to achieve strategic objectives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven focus on risk assessment and mitigation.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively across teams and at senior leadership levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code.
- In-depth knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles, monitoring, and observability tools.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and best practices around System Engineering domain.
- Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in the Kubernetes and Public Cloud Communities.
- Experience integrating AI or automation tools to optimize work processes and decision-making.
