The Analytics Experience team, which is part of the Artificial Intelligence, Data and Advanced Analytic s (AIDA) organization , is responsible for the creating a seamless experience for analytics experts to harness the potential of big data, machine learning, and interactive analytics through a unified platform across the enterprise - from scientific/clinical to commercial across all Pfizer geographies.
Part of the Analytics Experience team are a group of Platform Engineers who are responsible managing components that form the enterprise analytics platform. This platform will be the digital engine that brings together investments we have made into a unified experience for colleagues that take us to the next level of value creation . It powers next generation insights by developing enterprise-grade data foundations, allowing data to flow horizontally, enabling a versatile analytics environment, and embedding insights into day-to-day work to create a digital, data-driven culture.
The Analytics Extensibility Lead will be responsible for leading the strategy, planning, and development of an enterprise data science and analytics marketplace of commonly used libraries and utilities. This team is responsible for the development of extensions, plug-ins, and reusable templates that data scientists use in their day-to-day workflow. The role must have a strong data science and software develop background to lead a team of engineers to develop extensions that include data enrichment utilities, data visualization charts, and AI/ML plug-ins. The role will be interfacing directly with both Digital and Business data science and analytical teams to understand requirements and develop assets in close collaboration with users.
Role Responsibilities
- Hands-on data engineering and data science across multiple systems and data types.
- Ability to work across analytical workflows from data acquisition, exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, modeling, and interactive storytelling.
- Research, identify, and apply new algorithms and technologies to current business needs.
- Work on and rotate through agile prototyping teams across the organization applying innovative big data capabilities to address corporate-wide business problems.
- Apply emerging analytical techniques on structured and unstructured data to drive improvements in the speed and impact of business analytics for end users
- Developing analytical products which leverage emerging data sources, advanced methodologies, and new cost-effective technologies.
- Create, publish, and maintain a library of data enrichment, data visualization, and AI/ML plug-ins and extensions
- Interface with business and digital teams to manage a product backlog and define a roadmap/release plan of managed plug-ins and extensions
- Develop platform frameworks for support analytics practitioners to scale, automate, and deploy data pipelines, visual web apps, and/or AI/ML models
- Oversee, coach, and mentor a development team of 3-5 colleagues
- Clearly communicate the value and efficiency of new capabilities and technologies in order to advance adoption throughout the organization.
- Ability to be flexible, prioritize multiple demands and deal with ambiguity.
- Strong team player, experienced with leading without authority in complex matrix environments, gained through exposure to multi-cultural teams.
- Proven ability to act as a strategic consultant partnering with business stakeholders across PGS, Commercial, Medical, and WRD.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to clearly and effectively communicate the business relevance of technical subject matter.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Data Science, Computational Biology, or other similar quantitative fields required.
- At least 7 years experience in healthcare and or consulting field
- At least 3 years experience leading small project teams
- Expert knowledge and experience in statistical packages using languages like R or Python
- Demonstrated familiarity and ability with
- data transformation and ETL processing
- Experience with machine learning and associated tools/libraries such as scikit-learn and MLlib.
- Experience with interactive data visualization like Tableau, PowerBI, Plotly, D3.jS, and/or Shiny
- Experience with cloud architecture, docker, and containerization
- Linux/Unix/shell scripting experience required.
- Passion and curiosity for data and proven ability to take ideas from research to production.
- Ability to deal with and solve ambiguous problems.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $131,200.00 to $218,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
