Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Analyst with expertise in Power BI and Dimensional Modelling to assist in data analysis initiatives and drive actionable insights for our organization. As a senior member of the data team, you will be responsible for developing complex reports, implementing efficient data models, and working closely with business leaders to ensure data-driven decision-making. Your role will also involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity and optimal reporting solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advanced Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Lead the development, design, and maintenance of advanced reports and dashboards using Power BI.
- Perform in-depth data analysis to uncover key business insights and trends.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define reporting requirements and develop solutions that support business objectives.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of reports, identifying and correcting data discrepancies.
- Dimensional Modelling & Data Architecture:
- Assist in the design and implementation of dimensional models that support efficient reporting and data analysis.
- Work with data engineers to build and maintain data models that ensure optimized performance and scalability.
- Manage and improve existing data models to ensure they align with evolving business needs and reporting requirements.
- Power BI Expertise:
- Develop complex data visualizations and interactive reports in Power BI to drive insights and inform decision-making.
- Write and optimize DAX calculations for advanced data manipulation and performance tuning.
- Train and mentor junior team members in Power BI best practices and report development techniques.
- Familiar with Power BI Deployment Pipelines and Version Control
- Data Strategy & Governance:
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across various data sources and reports.
- Implement and enforce data governance policies, ensuring adherence to data security, privacy, and compliance standards.
- Develop and maintain data documentation, including data dictionaries and metadata.
Job Qualifications:
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field;
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership position.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and complex data visualizations.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing dimensional models (e.g., star and snowflake schemas).
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and performance tuning.
- Strong understanding of ETL processes, data warehousing principles, and database architecture.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure, AWS)
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and develop junior analysts.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex data to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
