Software Reliability Engineers are responsible for ensuring that the ArcGIS Enterprise product is reliable, highly available, and has powerful disaster recovery features. They do this by gathering user requirements, defining them for the team, evaluating the product, and guiding users through documentation, videos, and presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Esri is strongly user-focused and so gathering software reliability and availability requirements is an extremely important responsibility in this position
  • Requirements will need to be gathered both directly from users and indirectly from other Esri staff in Support and Professional Services
  • Reliability features and requirements cut across all functionalities and so leading cross-team efforts is a key responsibility
  • Reliability engineering is all about quality and so testing the software is a key responsibility, this will include creating test plans, automating those tests, evaluating the results, and ensuring that defects are acted upon
  • Communicating with our users is extremely important and so written documentation as well as presentations are a significant responsibility of this position

Requirements

  • 2+ years in a position with operational responsibilities, such as monitoring, maintaining, and deploying enterprise software
  • 1+ years of experience in software testing
  • Fundamental understanding of web services, such as REST and others
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills in a complex backend-server stack, preferably with ArcGIS Enterprise
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science and applications, math, GIS, geography, or related field
  • Existing work authorization for India

Recommended Qualifications

  • Master's degree in engineering, computer science and applications, math, GIS, geography, or related field
  • Experience administering ArcGIS Enterprise is preferred
  • Experience working on a development team is preferred
