About the team and the role:
TCGplayer connects hobbyists and hobby businesses to communities. We relentlessly improve the exchange of things and thoughts that fuel passions, providing the most compelling destination and tools for collectible card game enthusiasts and professional sellers! TCGplayer, now a part of eBay, promotes and drives growth of our products and services by connecting a global community of millions of buyers with tens of thousands of retailers in a $25B global collectible hobby market.
As a Software Engineer III, you will help design, build, and maintain the systems that power TCGplayer's Customer Experience (CX) platform. Your work will enable our CX agents to efficiently support both Buyers and Sellers across every aspect of TCGplayer's business. You will uplift legacy applications into a microservice-based architecture, integrate with internal systems of record and third-party ticketing and AI systems, and collaborate closely with other development teams to deliver a cohesive and intuitive customer support experience. This is a remote position.
What you will accomplish:
Design and develop features for a best-in-class Customer Experience Platform used by our in-house CX agents.
Build services and interfaces that surface relevant customer data and enable administrative actions on behalf of Buyers, Sellers, and internal business partners.
Integrate the platform with internal systems of record, as well as third-party ticketing and AI systems.
Collaborate with engineers across teams to manage dependencies and deliver high-quality software on time.
Partner with Cloud Platform & Site Reliability Engineering to ensure the platform is secure, reliable, and performant.
Identify opportunities to consolidate redundant technologies and applications, contributing to a stable foundation for future growth.
What you will bring:
A minimum of 5+ years of software development experience on large-scale, high-volume systems in a microservice-based architecture.
Strong proficiency in C#. Candidates with strong Java experience and a willingness to transition to C# are also encouraged to apply.
Experience with AWS or comparable cloud infrastructure.
Full-stack development experience, comfortable working across backend services and user-facing interfaces.
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience) in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
