Location: This is a remote position; however, the role requires the candidate to be based in Mumbai.
Role in a nutshell:
Own the end-to-end development of BrowserStack’s CMS and marketing platform built on WordPress and modern web technologies.
You will build fast, scalable, and reliable web experiences used by millions of
developers globally.
As a senior engineer, you’ll drive architecture, performance, and engineering best practices while collaborating closely with product, design, and growth teams.
You’ll take full ownership of features, ship high-quality code, and mentor others to raise the team’s technical bar.
Desired experience:
● 3–6 years of experience building scalable WordPress/web applications in production
● Strong skills in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and modern frameworks (React or similar)
● Solid PHP expertise with WordPress (themes, plugins, REST APIs, CPTs, ACF)
● Experience integrating REST/GraphQL APIs and backend services
● Strong focus on performance, SEO, accessibility, and Core Web Vitals
● Hands-on with MySQL and basic query optimization
● Familiarity with Git workflows, testing, and CI/CD practices
● Experience working with cloud/hosting platforms (AWS, WPEngine, or similar)
● Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills
● High ownership mindset with a bias for action and quality
What will you do:
● Build and maintain scalable WordPress themes, plugins, and CMS solutions
● Own features end-to-end — from design to deployment and production support
● Deliver high-performance, responsive, and accessible web experiences
● Optimize applications for speed, reliability, and SEO
● Integrate third-party tools and backend services
● Participate in code reviews and drive engineering best practices
● Collaborate closely with product, design, and marketing teams
● Mentor junior engineers and improve team productivity
● Continuously improve tooling, testing, and deployment processes
