Senior Technical Specialist

Join Nokia's Fixed Networks Broadband Business Network (BBN) team in Chennai and help shape the future of broadband connectivity. In this role, you will contribute to the validation and quality assurance of next-generation access solutions, working on technologies that connect millions of homes and businesses worldwide.

You will collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams to design, execute, and automate test solutions for broadband access products. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your networking expertise, enhance automation capabilities, and play a key role in delivering high-quality software releases to customers.

• Design and execute test cases for broadband access network products.
• Build and maintain test environments for functional and regression testing.
• Validate Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking features and protocols.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and drive issue resolution.
• Develop and enhance automation scripts using Python and Robot Framework.
• Execute performance and traffic validation using industry test tools.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve product quality.
• Support delivery milestones in a fast-paced and agile environment.

Must-Have

• 11+ years experience in software testing of networking or telecom products.
• Strong knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols including VLAN, STP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, IPv6, QoS, DHCP and PPPoE.
• Hands-on experience with test design, execution, defect tracking and reporting.
• Experience with Robot Framework and Python-based test automation.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with GPON, FTTH, IPDSLAM or broadband access products.
• Hands-on experience with Spirent, IXIA, PCTA or similar traffic generators.
• Experience in both manual and automation testing environments.
• Understanding of CI/CD and test automation best practices.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on challenging schedules.
