About India Child Protection
The
India Child Protection (ICP), established in 2005, is a leading child rights
protection organisation dedicated to combatting child sexual abuse (CSA) and
related crimes, including child trafficking, exploitation of children in the
digital space, and child marriage.

its ground-breaking programmes and multi-pronged approach, ICP works to create
a child protection ecosystem that prevents crimes against children, fights for
justice for survivors and their families, strengthens the child protection mechanism,
and promotes children’s rights in India. Through legal deterrence and awareness

required for a lasting, sustainable impact on child protection issues.

Job purpose
The Senior Research Associate will be responsible for the tasks
related to research undertaken by the ICP. S/he will be required to closely
work with the Junior Research Fellow and also supervise interns if required.
Job Description (Role Expectations)
The role will
entail but not be restricted to, the following responsibilities:
Technical
1. Conceptualise and conduct clear, logical and compelling research studies
that highlight the challenges relating to children and collect evidence for
solution
2. Planning and executing primary research studies; developing detailed study
protocol and design study instruments in consultation with the team; analysis
and interpretation of research studies
3. Data collection, quality assurance, analysis and monitoring of data
collection staff
4. Conduct secondary research studies using multiple data sources
5. Assist in organising expert group meetings and multi-stakeholder
consultations as per requirement
6. Prepare regular updates and archive key data from different sources
7. Perform any other work-related responsibilities assigned by the supervisor
or head of the research division
Operational
o All administrative/HR/IT related activities as required
o Coordinate and manage updates/progress reports and activity management
o Handle procurements related to research
o Prepare minutes of the meeting and documentation
Skills & Competencies for the
role:
o Understanding of the social, economic and political context and status of
children in India and their health and nutrition
o Understanding of laws related to children and their health viz, UNCRC, RTI
Act, ICDS, ICPS, NCLP, etc.
o Strong quantitative and qualitative data analytical skills
o Experience in handling large-scale data sets and Census data
o Demonstrated documentation and report writing skills
o Strong language proficiency in English and Hindi; Excellent writing skills
o Excellent interpersonal and team work capabilities
o Ability to manage multiple tasks
o Ability to work under pressure and deliver within deadlines
Education, Experience and Exposure
Education
o The candidate should have an M.A/M.Sc in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics from a reputed university/institute
Experience & Exposure
o Candidates with M.Phil degree must have a minimum of 2 year experience of
working in child rights, child protection, child health, nutrition, education
or other related development programmes and research initiatives
o Candidates with M.A/M.Sc degree must have a minimum of 4 years’
experience of working in child rights, child protection, child health,
nutrition, education or other related development programmes and research
initiatives
o Experience of statistical analysis
using SPSS, STATA
o Experience of use of qualitative data analysis software
o The minimum experience and exposure criteria can be relaxed in the case
of suitable candidates.
