Role OverviewWe are looking for a Senior PHP Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of our core platform. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong ownership, and the ability to drive complex projects end-to-end.
You will play a critical role in shaping architecture, improving system performance, and mentoring other engineers while working on a modern, scalable SaaS platform.
What You’ll Do- Design and develop high-performance, scalable backend systems using PHP
- Lead architecture decisions and drive best practices across the engineering team
- Refactor and modernize legacy systems into maintainable, modular services
- Build and optimize RESTful APIs
- Work closely with product, QA, and support teams to deliver high-quality features
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues with a focus on reliability and performance
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering excellence
- Improve CI/CD pipelines, code quality, and deployment processes
- 7–10+ years of PHP development experience
- Strong experience with modern frameworks (Laravel preferred; CodeIgniter acceptable)
- Deep understanding of OOP, design patterns, and clean architecture
- Extensive experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL and database optimization
- Proven experience building scalable, high-traffic applications
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, system integration, and distributed systems
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and code review practices
- Solid understanding of Linux environments and cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
- Strong focus on performance, security, and scalability
- Proficiency in JavaScript (modern frameworks like React/Angular/Vue)
- Strong grasp of HTML5, CSS3, responsive design
- Experience working on SaaS or multi-tenant platforms
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG)
- Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
- Ability to own projects end-to-end
- Excellent communication skills (comfortable working with global teams)
