Role Summary
We’re looking for a Senior Lead Site Reliability Engineer to own and improve the reliability, performance, and security of our NGINX-based platforms. This role combines hands-on engineering with leadership—driving automation, observability, and best practices for traffic management and application delivery.
- NGINX Expertise: Design, operate, and optimize NGINX/NGINX Plus for reverse proxying, load balancing, TLS termination, and caching.
- Reliability & Performance: Define and monitor SLOs/SLIs, troubleshoot latency and availability issues, and lead incident response.
- Automation: Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD pipelines for NGINX configuration and deployments.
- Security: Manage TLS certificates, enforce secure configurations, and integrate WAF/DDoS protections.
- Observability: Build dashboards and alerts using Prometheus/Grafana; enable teams with actionable insights.
- Leadership: Mentor engineers, review designs, and collaborate with product and security teams.
- 8+ years in SRE/Platform roles, with deep NGINX experience.
- Strong Linux, networking (TCP/IP, HTTP/2), and performance tuning skills.
- Hands-on with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD workflows.
- Experience with Kubernetes ingress and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Familiarity with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana) and security best practices.
Nice to Have: NGINX Plus, WAF integration, API gateway experience, scripting (Python).
