We are on the lookout for a dedicated individual to manage the daily cutting operation of the cutting department by maximizing the utilization of man and machine effectively and efficiently in order to achieve 100% on-time delivery with required quality standards.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure 100% on time catering for production demand using follow up of the Kanban board, whilst ensuring the expected quality levels in order to ensure no disruptions for the daily sewing operation.
  • Identify the critical points of new products and styles at the pre-production stage, address the potential operational risks, so as to eliminate fabric wastage and ensure minimal disruptions to the cutting and subsequently, the sewing operation.
  • Ensure maximum utilization of machinery, equipment and other resources to optimize productivity by identifying similar styles & production order combination.
  • Identify the new style laying and cutting methods, while optimizing the number of layers in order to maximize the cutting capacity and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with the RMW team and ensure on time material availability at the Cutting table in order to carry out the Cutting operation smoothly.
  • Solve operational problems such as skill issues, issues arising from fabric length & width discrepancies and optimizing fabric laying at the Cutting floor by following problem solving techniques such as Five-why and Eight step in order to facilitate uninterrupted cutting operation.
  • Carry out continuous improvement initiatives of the cutting operations through lean principles.
  • Maintain healthy employee relations within the cutting group that can motivate and promote employee productivity.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Degree in engineering/ Textile.

  • 4-5 years’ experience in Operations.

  • Strong people management and communication skills.
