The Opportunity
This is going to be a true DevOps role, where half of your time will be spent writing software for our product (Akuity Platform) and the other half will be helping us maintain the infrastructure for the platform. This would be perfect for the Golang developer who likes to get their hands dirty and also play with Linux, Containers, Kubernetes, Networking, Security, AWS, Postgresql, and other Cloud native technologies.
You Will
- Design, build, test, deploy, and improve Akutiy’s SaaS platform. Use your expertise and commitment to excellence to build the best developer tools for our users, partners, and customers.
- Develop in Go on the server side.
- Collaborate with designers and engineers to design, implement, and deliver features that remove the headaches of infrastructure operations for our users.
- Make sure that as our SaaS Platform rapidly grows, it remains scalable and built with developer empathy.
- Empower teams to provide reliable systems. Facilitate the operation of service level objectives (SLO), on-call rotations, and blameless post-mortems.
- Help with infrastructure maintenance and cloud cost optimization.
- Orchestrate cloud resources from different cloud providers to build a reliable and scalable platform
About You

- Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative mindset with a passion for developer experience
- A passion for working on complex technical products, particularly in the realm of SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS.
- Deep knowledge of systems design, API design, and infrastructure.
- A genuine interest in designing a great end-to-end developer experience while using Akuity’s products.
- A BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
You have
Minimum qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience developing scalable applications using Golang
- Administration experience in container orchestration platforms, preferably using Kubernetes, and demonstrated by the Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certificate
- Experience in observability (monitoring, logging, and tracing) for cloud-based environments, using CNCF tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Thanos, Jaeger, or SaaS tools such as Datadog
- Proficiency in operating public cloud services using infrastructure-as-code tools like Crossplane, Terraform or CloudFormation
- Expertise in maintaining self-service CI/CD platforms and supporting techniques like Trunk-Based development, GitOps-based deployments, or automated canary releases
- Experience with relational databases (Postgres/MySQL)
- Business-level communication in English
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Strong knowledge of fundamental AWS services with a certification as an AWS Associate or above
- Passion for staying up-to-date with the latest industry topics in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), DevOps, and the AWS Well-Architected Framework
- Knowledge of common application architecture patterns: distributed systems, microservices, asynchronous processing, event-driven systems, and others
- Experience building Kubernetes controllers or operators at scale with Golang in AWS, GCP, Azure, or On-prem.
- Experience with Kubernetes core systems and APIs
