Responsibilities
Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and data inconsistencies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and prevent recurring issues.
Analyze and optimize database performance by fine-tuning queries, indexing, and configuration settings. Implement best practices to enhance system efficiency.
Manage and optimize on-premise SQL Server environments (2019-2022) and Azure SQL Managed Instances, ensuring high performance, security, and availability.
Administer, maintain, and monitor multiple database environments, ensuring data integrity, security, and high availability.
Collaborate with the DevOps team to automate database provisioning, deployments, and monitoring. Implement CI/CD pipelines for database changes.
Implement and enforce security policies, access controls, and encryption mechanisms to protect sensitive data. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Work closely with developers, system administrators, and other IT professionals to support application development and infrastructure initiatives.
Your Profile
As a person you come across as team-player who is professional, analytical, solution-oriented, positive and energetic. Further we are looking for a candidate with the following professional competencies:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
More than 5 years of proven experience as a Database Administrator with a strong focus on troubleshooting and performance tuning.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure PaaS offerings and services.
Familiarity with basic DevOps practices and tools such as version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
Proficiency in SQL query optimization and scripting.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
Certifications in relevant areas (e.g., Microsoft Azure, database management) are a plus.
