The Senior Data Engineer will build and maintain scalable data pipelines, improve data quality, and generate insights for business decisions across various teams, primarily using GCP.
At Syarah, we are building the future of automotive e-commerce in the region, with data at the core of our operations. We’re looking for a Senior Data Specialist to support and scale our data systems, analytics, and reporting capabilities.
This is a hands-on role where you will build reliable data pipelines, improve data quality, and generate insights that support business decisions across product, operations, and finance. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining our data infrastructure on GCP.
Key Responsibilities- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes
- Develop and optimize Syarah’s data platform on GCP (BigQuery, Dataform, Cloud Run)
- Design and maintain clean, scalable data models for reporting and analytics
- Integrate data from multiple sources, including ERP and operational systems
- Develop and maintain APIs (Flask or similar) for data access and integrations
- Manage and monitor data workflows using Airflow or similar tools
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across systems
- Support integration of tools like Mixpanel and Adjust for analytics and tracking
- Build dashboards and reports for business teams
- Analyze data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities
- Collaborate with product, finance, and operations teams to support data needs
- Contribute to automation and internal tooling, including AI-related use cases where relevant
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or similar roles
- Strong experience with GCP (BigQuery preferred)
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes
- Hands-on experience with Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools
- Experience with APIs (Flask or similar frameworks is a plus)
- Strong understanding of data modeling and analytics best practices
- Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., Mixpanel, Adjust) is a plus
- Experience working with ERP systems is a plus
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
