Job Summary: The SAP Build Developer will be responsible for creating and enhancing business applications and automating processes using the SAP Build portfolio, which includes SAP Build Apps (low-code/no-code application development), SAP Build Process Automation (workflow and RPA), and potentially SAP Build Work Zone (digital workspaces). This role requires a strong understanding of business processes, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions using SAP's low-code/no-code and intelligent automation capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Application Development with SAP Build Apps:
Design, develop, and deploy enterprise-grade custom applications using SAP Build Apps (formerly SAP AppGyver) with a focus on intuitive user interfaces and experiences.
Utilize drag-and-drop functionalities, pre-built components, and visual programming to create web and mobile applications.
Implement complex in-app business logic using triggers, decision flows, and formulas within the low-code environment.
Connect SAP Build Apps to various data sources, including SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP services, and external systems, via REST APIs and OData.
Process Automation with SAP Build Process Automation:
Analyze, design, and implement automated business processes and tasks using SAP Build Process Automation.
Develop and orchestrate workflows, create forms, and define business rules to streamline operations.
Leverage Robotic Process Automation (RPA) bots to automate repetitive, rule-based tasks.
Utilize AI capabilities within SAP Build Process Automation, such as intelligent document processing (IDP) and generative AI, for enhanced automation.
Integrate automated processes with SAP and non-SAP applications.
Collaboration & Requirements:
Collaborate closely with business users, functional consultants, and IT teams to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical specifications for SAP Build solutions.
Participate in workshops, design sessions, and sprint reviews.
Foster a "fusion team" approach, enabling business users (citizen developers) to contribute to development efforts while ensuring governance and best practices.
Testing & Deployment:
Conduct thorough testing, including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing, to ensure the quality, functionality, and performance of developed applications and automations.
Support the deployment and go-live of SAP Build solutions.
Provide post-implementation support and troubleshooting.
Documentation & Best Practices:
Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, development guides, and user manuals.
Adhere to SAP Build best practices, coding standards (where applicable), and security guidelines.
Stay updated with the latest SAP Build capabilities, releases, and industry trends.
Optional (SAP Build Work Zone):
Design and develop engaging digital workspaces and business sites using SAP Build Work Zone to provide unified access to applications, information, and collaboration tools.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience (X+ years) in developing and implementing solutions using SAP technologies.
Strong hands-on experience with SAP Build Apps (AppGyver) for low-code/no-code application development.
Solid experience with SAP Build Process Automation, including workflow design, RPA bot development, and business rules configuration.
Familiarity with the SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) and its services (e.g., Integration Suite, AI Core).
Understanding of APIs (REST, OData) for integrating SAP Build solutions with various systems.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business challenges into effective technical solutions.
Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Experience with other low-code/no-code platforms.
Knowledge of traditional SAP development (ABAP, SAP Fiori, UI5) is a plus.
Experience with SAP S/4HANA or other SAP ECC modules.
Certifications in SAP Build, SAP BTP, or related areas.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
