We Breathe Life Into Data

At Komodo Health, our mission is to reduce the global burden of disease. And we believe that smarter use of data is essential to this mission. That’s why we built the Healthcare Map — the industry’s largest, most complete, precise view of the U.S. healthcare system — by combining de-identified, real-world patient data with innovative algorithms and decades of clinical experience. The Healthcare Map serves as our foundation for a powerful suite of software applications, helping us answer healthcare’s most complex questions for our partners. Across the healthcare ecosystem, we’re helping our clients unlock critical insights to track detailed patient behaviors and treatment patterns, identify gaps in care, address unmet patient needs, and reduce the global burden of disease.

As we pursue these goals, it remains essential to us that we stay grounded in our values: be awesome, seek growth, deliver “wow,” and enjoy the ride. At Komodo, you will be joining a team of ambitious, supportive Dragons with diverse backgrounds but a shared passion to deliver on our mission to reduce the burden of disease — and enjoy the journey along the way.

The Opportunity at Komodo Health

At Komodo Health, we empower healthcare organizations to make data-driven decisions. Clients’ implementations of Komodo Health products need customizations and integrations that are created by writing custom code, mainly on the Salesforce platform but potentially on a variety of third-party systems. The Salesforce Developer role is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic development team. You will leverage your strong coding skills to contribute to the creation of these essential customizations and integrations. While the design of these solutions is handled by our dedicated Technical Architect team, you will play a key role in bringing them to life.

Looking back on your first 12 months at Komodo Health, you will have…

  • Mastered the more advanced concepts of Software Development
  • Gained a deep understanding of and proficiency in applying advanced Object Oriented Programming Design Patterns
  • Become highly skilled in utilizing Komodo Health's core technologies and platforms, including Salesforce and AWS
  • Expanded your knowledge base by exploring the fundamentals of other technologies and platforms used within Komodo Health
  • Developed strong problem-solving skills, tackling challenges independently while also knowing how to ask targeted questions to leverage the expertise of others.
  • Built the ability to make informed decisions by actively seeking out and integrating the insights of your colleagues
  • Identified and pursued opportunities for continuous learning and skill development

You will accomplish these outcomes through the following responsibilities…

  • Contributed to project success by developing custom LWC components for client functionalities, writing essential Apex code (triggers, batch jobs, REST services), and integrating with AWS Lambda using Javascript/Typescript. Also, helped colleagues using git and understand failures on CI/CD pipelines
  • Demonstrated initiative by actively seeking out additional work or shadowing opportunities to broaden your expertise. This could include taking on internal projects or pursuing relevant Salesforce or AWS certifications.
  • Established clear and effective communication channels with project teams, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing. This involves actively communicating task status via Chatter, Slack, or Github issues and writing well-structured documentation for colleagues and clients
  • Actively developed strong communication skills to interact effectively with peers, managers, and mentors, building a network of support and guidance. This includes proactively managing expectations by communicating potential delays to project managers and seeking support from management or mentors when encountering unfamiliar industry specifics or new technologies

What you bring to Komodo Health:

  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced software development principles
  • Strong proficiency in Apex development, a core language for the Salesforce platform
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with building user interfaces (UIs) using the Lightning Web Component (LWC) framework
  • Solid foundation in Javascript, NodeJS, and Typescript programming languages
  • Familiarity with design patterns and their application in software development

Additional skills and experience we’d prioritize (nice to have)…

  • Certifications in Salesforce development and architecture, demonstrating your commitment to continuous learning and excellence
  • Knowledge of additional technologies beyond Komodo Health's core systems, such as Linux or fundamental programming languages not currently used, which can expand your versatility and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience with package managers like NPM and YARN, which streamline the process of managing software dependencies
