Are you the type of person who has a deep desire to lead a team while building a winning sales strategy that encompasses gathering and evaluating market driven data and converting it to actionable data the operational team can utilize? In this role you will develop a sales plan and work with a dealer network to implement and execute growth initiatives. We’re looking for a proven sales professional that possesses keen decision-making skills, has strong leadership experience and the ability to work in an environment where peer relationships and cross-functional agility are important.What You’ll Do
1. Communicate with dealers by setting sales goals, monitoring results, and visiting dealerships to ensure quality service. Manage and administer dealer group discounts and ensure the team follows discount policy and manage documentation of amendments.
2. Develop the "Business Plan Forecast of Sales" annually and execute this by setting a high standard of service to customers. Manage sales forecast and provide input regarding controlling and monitoring product inventory to make sales targets, account inventory, and lead times.
3. Partner with the regional management team to align assigned business segment goals to specific dealership annual business plan. This can entail market share growth plans, inventory stocking and turns analysis and strategic rental programs.
4. Partner with the marketing team to complete marketing materials and execute marketing launch plans. Understand customer needs and assess customer satisfaction by communicating with the customer including visiting customer job sites, trade shows, customer meeting, and customer events. Communicate product ideas/enhancements to leadership.
5. Develop and deliver training, in addition to creating training materials, organizing training and training assessment, updating training information for internal sales team, field personnel and dealer network.
6. Work with various dealerships and their customers to align product availability, pricing, and general account programs within the dealership and Vermeer Corporation.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing and/or business with minimum ten years of sales experience including finance, marketing, lead generation, sales management, basic business principles, research skills, and customer retention skills; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Knowledge of all assigned business segment products, sales planning and execution.
- Demonstrated experience with product marketing, product launches, market research and communication management.
- Ability to achieve sales goals, meet financial requirements and inventory targets of segment and grow market share.
- Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships, to encourage openness with customers and peers.
- Ability to be the Vermeer Corporation industry voice to dealerships, customers and various associations and market groups.
- Ability to hold confidential information, such as product group and corporate profit and loss, product development plans, and budgets.
Travel
- Significant travel is expected of this position.
Work Location
