Job Description
Position Purpose:
The Software Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible to lead and deliver testing solutions - both Automation and Manual aimed at ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products for Brambles and its customers.They will play a critical role in the software development lifecycle, collaborating closely with the team to identify, analyze, and mitigate risks to product quality. They will be key to ensuring our products are usable, accurate, and of highest quality.
Major/Key Accountabilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.
- Develop and execute manual and automated testing as per Brambles and industry best practices.
- Integrate QA processes seamlessly into the CI/CD pipeline using JIRA, BitBucket, and reporting tools to ensure efficient tracking and management of testing activities.
- Establish traceability between requirements, user stories, and test cases to ensure that all functional and non-functional requirements are validated.
- Conduct various testing as needed to support product quality during product development, releases, and Business-As-Usual phase, take ownership of testing activities.
- Provide training and mentoring to fellow team members on automation testing tools, best practices and help them upskill as needed for project delivery needs.
- Manage agile testing workflows, analyze daily testing statistics, defects, and performance metrics, and report findings for continuous improvement.
- Support the team to manage software code control, testing processes and software deployment for the automation environments.
- Be updated with latest testing tools and industry best practices.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Experience in manual testing methodologies for web, mobile, and desktop applications
- Hands-on experience with a variety of test automation tools and frameworks such as Cypress, BDD/Cucumber, Chai/Mocha frameworks, Worksoft Certify, NeoLoad
- Knowledge of JavaScript.
- Experience with version control systems like Bitbucket/Git
- Experience with Software Development tools like JIRA, Visual Studio
- Experience in setting up automation framework, testing infrastructure from scratch.
- Knowledge of DevOps principles
- Experience in configuring CI/CD pipelines to run automated tests.
- Experience in API testing
- Understanding of security testing concepts and experience in security testing methodologies
- Skilled in coaching developers on quality standards to ensure a shared understanding of quality expectations.
- Proficiency in coaching and mentoring fellow QA engineers.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Measures:
Test Coverage, Defect Detection Rate, Cost vs Benefit Analysis - That is, reduction in testing time due to automation while maintaining high-quality production. Number of errors prevented, number of errors postproduction, number of permanent corrective actions implemented to reduce both types, cost of creating/maintaining automated testing, Test Case Effectiveness, Best Practices in test script development and maintenance.
