The QA Test Engineer reports to the Corporate IT Manager in India. This is a role in Huron’s Software Engineering team based in India and works with Software Development and Corporate IT resources based in India and the US.
Under general direction, this individual is responsible for carrying out procedures to ensure that all software, hardware, applications and services meet the standards of the organization and end-user requirements, analyzing and testing software and application configuration to ensure that products meet design specifications and are within total quality management limits and standards. This individual is expected to participate actively in the entire software development life cycle (SDLC) including helping to develop quality standards, test cases, software/hardware and application testing, and documenting process and test outcomes. They are responsible for developing, modifying and executing test cases and suites and communicating with the data engineering and BI developers, leads, product developers and technical support specialists on software issues. In addition, they are expected to perform tests to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects. They may create test data to ensure thorough evaluation, documents, and work to resolve basic problems and report progress on problem resolution to management.
The QA Test Engineer applies company policies and procedures to address a variety of issues. They are also responsible for automating regression tests and ensuring the quality of the code. They are responsible for thinking innovatively to reduce manual effort & use the available AI tools to speed up the regulars process

Requirements:

• Works with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Data Analysts, BI developers and other team members to ensure all testing needs for projects are met in a timely manner and that all hardware, application configurations, and software products meet the quality expectations of the business. Works with team members spread across multiple time zones and geographic locations.
• Should be familiar with the working of Cloud Platforms (Azure/AWS) and have a hands-on experience working on the process of Extract Transform and Load (ETL)
• Familiar with basic AWS services, knowledge of how to configure and update test Glue jobs and tracking the data objects flows and verifying the CloudWatch logs is a good to have.
• Should be having a good PowerBi knowledge with a much better understanding on the measures used and DataModels implemented for reports.
• Should be proficient in maintaining the accuracy of data across multiple sources and ensure it meets defined quality standards.
• To be proficient with the Basics of SQL, able to write SQL Queries to check backend data and familiar with working on Databases, familiarity with database structures and relationships, identifying the root cause of data issues and defects.
• To design and execute Test Cases related to Data Quality, Database objects inclusions, changes and impacts ensuring the complete understanding of the Datamodels involved.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of testing processes, data definitions, and quality standards. Ensures documentation is thorough and clear for consumption by everyone in the team.
• Experience on Automation Tools, frameworks etc knowing  Python is an added advantage.
• Helps to develop procedures to increase the effectiveness of the QA team
• Contributes to team development and performance to achieve team goals
• Works with confidential and proprietary company and client data
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow defined processes

Preferences:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science/computer information systems or equivalent experience.
• Work history: 2-4 years working in a QA/Testing role, with at least 2 years’ experience in data analytics validation projects using any cloud platform.
• Experience:
  • Knowledge of Test Management Tools such as Azure Test Plans, Microsoft Test Manager, JIRA, Quality Center, etc.
  • To be proficient with the Basics of SQL and working on Database.
  • Experience in Power BI / any reporting tool testing with AWS/Azure Data platform
  • Experience working with any ETL projects and having a good understanding of the validation process data flow and knowledge of system architecture.
  • Reporting issues/bugs/failed tests into systems consumed by team members across global locations.
  • Data Analysis of Source systems and testing the transformations
  • Success working with varied teams, partnering with Software Engineers, Application Engineers, IT Managers, and Business Analysts
  • Experience on Automation Tools like selenium/playright and language such as python and java.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum Methodology
