QA Automation Engineer – Selenium, Jenkins & API Testing in Financial Applications
Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a skilled QA Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement automation frameworks and scripts to ensure the delivery of high-quality software. This role involves working closely with development and QA teams to perform automation testing, validate functionalities, and identify bottlenecks. Your expertise will contribute to the organization’s commitment to delivering reliable, efficient, and scalable applications, supporting our strategic focus on agility, quality, and continuous improvement.
Software Requirements
Required:
Proficiency in Selenium, TestNG, Maven, and Jenkins for automation testing and continuous integration
Experience with JIRA or similar test management tools
Knowledge of API testing and database testing techniques
Hands-on experience developing automation scripts in Java
Understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies
Preferred:
Experience with other automation tools such as UFT or Postman
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows
Familiarity with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter)
Exposure to cloud testing environments and tools
Overall Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test scripts for functional, regression, and system testing
Execute automated tests and analyze results to identify issues and ensure quality standards
Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA teams to review requirements and refine testing strategies
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve automation scripts and testing environment issues
Create comprehensive test documentation, including test cases, plans, and defect reports
Participate in Agile sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
Support continuous integration and seamless deployment processes by integrating automation into pipelines
Monitor test execution and generate detailed reports on testing outcomes and quality metrics
Promote best practices in automation, testing, and quality assurance across projects
Stay current with industry trends, emerging tools, and best practices in automation testing
Technical Skills (By Category)
Programming Languages (Essential):
Java (proficiency in writing reusable, clean automation scripts)
Preferred:
Scripting languages like Python for advanced automation tasks
Testing Frameworks & Tools:
Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, Maven, Jenkins
Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or RestAssured (preferred)
Databases/Data Management:
Basic knowledge of SQL and experience with database validation queries in Oracle, MySQL, or similar
Version Control & CI/CD:
Git, Jenkins, or similar tools for automation pipeline integration
Testing Methodologies & Practices:
Functional testing, regression testing, and debugging
Test-driven development (TDD) and continuous testing practices
Agile and Scrum methodologies implementation
Performance & Security (Preferred):
Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter)
Awareness of security considerations like data encryption and secure API practices
Experience Requirements
At least 3 years of hands-on experience in automation testing in enterprise, web, or software development environments
Proven experience developing and maintaining automation frameworks with Selenium, TestNG, Maven, and Jenkins
Experience with API testing and database validation in complex projects
Prior experience working in Agile teams and supporting continuous integration/continuous deployment processes
Experience working with development teams to improve test coverage and quality
Day-to-Day Activities
Develop, review, and enhance automated test scripts based on project requirements
Execute test cases, analyze results, and document defects or issues
Troubleshoot automation failures and optimize scripts for reliability and efficiency
Collaborate with developers and QA teams to review requirements and improve test coverage
Maintain automation frameworks and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines
Participate in daily scrum meetings, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
Create and maintain test documentation, including test plans, procedures, and defect logs
Support regression testing and validation activities to ensure application stability
Stay updated on new testing tools, trends, and best practices in automation
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
3+ years of experience in automation testing in an enterprise environment
Proven experience with Selenium, TestNG, Maven, Jenkins, and Java-based frameworks
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of API testing, SQL, and database validation techniques
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes
