We are looking for a Principal Software Development Engineer to join our Frontend Engineering team and lead the design, development, and evolution of world-class web applications. Reporting to the Manager, Software Development Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Zscaler’s next-generation user interfaces while mentoring and guiding other engineers.
- Architecting and delivering high-quality ReactJS solutions, specializing in translating UI/UX designs into robust applications. Includes technical mentorship and fostering innovation
- Driving system design and engineering excellence by evolving Zscaler’s design system and championing best practices, including automated testing, modularity, semantic code, and performance tuning
- Defining API contracts and integration roadmaps with backend teams. Optimizing CI/CD with DevOps and evaluating new technologies to foster innovation
- Leading system refactoring to ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability. Drives engineering excellence through focus on accessibility and research-driven methods
- 8+ years software development, 5+ years specializing in large-scale production ReactJS and Redux applications
- Expert in ReactJS development using TypeScript, ES6+, and advanced state management
- Experience building complex UIs, data-heavy dashboards, and advanced data visualizations (e.g., D3.js)
- Expertise in developing extensive unit, integration, and E2E tests (Jest, Enzyme, or Cypress)
- Expertise in designing and deploying large-scale enterprise UIs, emphasizing high availability, performance, and a seamless experience for global users
- Drove performance optimization (speed, responsiveness) using advanced techniques (lazy loading, code splitting, tree shaking) to enhance application scalability
- Familiarity with backend principles and practical experience with Node.js or similar for API integration/debugging
- Ability to architect and implement scalable and modular solutions for multi-tenant applications, with a focus on reliability, maintainability, and future-proofing system development
