Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee payroll in compliance with Indian regulations.
· Calculate salaries, deductions (taxes, provident fund, insurance, etc.), and bonuses.
· Maintain employee payroll records.
· Coordinate with HR to ensure proper input for new hires, Resigned, and employee changes.
Statutory Compliance:
· Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws, Provident Fund (PF), Employees’ State Insurance (ESI), Gratuity, and Labor Laws under Indian Government regulations.
· Assist in the calculation and filing of income tax, TDS (Tax Deducted at Source), and other statutory requirements.
· Prepare and file monthly/quarterly/annual returns related to payroll.
· Assist in maintaining general ledgers, preparing journal entries, and posting entries related to payroll expenses.
· Support month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring all payroll-related entries are accounted for correctly.
· Reconcile payroll-related accounts, such as salaries payable, statutory dues, etc.
Employee Queries:
· Address payroll-related queries from employees in a timely and professional manner.
· Provide assistance in resolving discrepancies related to salary, deductions, or other payroll-related issues.
Additional skills and experience
· GST Compliance: Ensure adherence to GST laws and regulations, including preparing and filing GST returns, reconciling GST payable and receivable, and handling GST audits.
· Accounts Payable (AP): Process and manage vendor invoices, verify payment terms, ensure timely payments, and maintain accurate records of AP transactions.
