About the Role

This is a rare opportunity to own something that truly matters to Halter’s continued scale.

As Operations Lead, you will be fully accountable for the day-to-day delivery of Collar production. You'll own the build schedule, drive operational excellence with our contract manufacturer, and serve as the operational hub connecting Halter's specialist functions - quality, hardware design, production engineering, and beyond - to keep production moving and aligned.

This isn't a role for someone who wants to manage a large team or operate from behind a desk. It's a role for someone who wants to roll up their sleeves, get deep into the detail, and deliver critical hardware that underpins the world's most ambitious agritech company. You'll be the person who makes things happen by building trust with factory partners, solving problems before they escalate, and continuously improving the systems and processes that keep production running.

If you're energised by ownership, thrive in fast-moving environments, and want your work to have direct global impact, this is it.

What You'll Own

Production Delivery

- Own end-to-end delivery of all production builds on time and to specification.

- Communicate build approvals and coordinate execution with the factory, aligned to the production plan.

- Proactively manage changes to the build plan and keep both Halter and factory teams fully aligned.

Operational Excellence

- Ensure daily factory operations run smoothly by anticipating issues, removing blockers, and maintaining momentum.

- Act as the connective tissue between Halter's specialist teams: supplier quality, hardware design (mechanical and electrical), production engineering, firmware, and others, by translating their inputs into clear operational action at the factory.

- Coordinate with the relevant teams on reliability testing schedules, material disposition, build readiness, and any cross-functional issue that intersects with production delivery.

On-the-Ground Operations

- Own the full operational footprint on-site: beyond factory production, this includes local logistics, facilities, office setup, vendor management, and any operational tasks required to run Halter's Thailand presence effectively.

- Be the go-to person for anything operational that needs to get done, with the initiative to figure it out and the resourcefulness to make it happen.

Factory Relationship & Influence

- Build deep, trust-based relationships with factory personnel at all levels.

- Influence behaviours, drive adoption of new processes, and push for continuous improvement within our contract manufacturer, without formal authority over their organisation.

- Act as Halter's ambassador on-site: representing our standards, our culture, and our expectations.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

- Develop and maintain dashboards, trackers, and reporting tools that give Halter clear visibility over production status and operational health.

- Identify and implement process improvements that increase build reliability, reduce waste, and improve throughput.

- Create feedback loops that surface issues early and enable fast, informed decision-making.

Who You Are

You're an experienced operations professional who gets things done. You have a bias for action, sharp organisational instincts, and the ability to influence outcomes across organisations and cultures.

Specifically, you likely bring:

Must-haves:

- Proven experience owning operations in a hands-on, high-accountability role.

- Experience working in or with SE Asia manufacturing environments. You understand the culture, the dynamics, and how to build effective working relationships on the ground.

- Demonstrated ability to influence and drive change within external organisations or partners without formal authority.

- Strong planning and organisational skills: you can hold complex, fast-moving schedules together under pressure.

- A track record in high-growth, fast-paced environments: comfortable with ambiguity and energised by change, not unsettled by it.

- Comfort working at the intersection of multiple technical disciplines. You don't need to be an expert but you can engage with specialists across all of these domains and translate their work into operational outcomes.

Strong advantage:

- Experience with electromechanical or precision hardware manufacturing.

- Background in agritech, medtech, industrial IoT, or other high-reliability hardware categories.

- Experience working with contract manufacturers and navigating the priorities of a third-party production partner.

- Cross-border operations experience across multiple time zones and cultures.

Location

Based on-site at our manufacturing partner's facility in Thailand. Candidates based elsewhere in Southeast Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong) and open to relocating are also encouraged to apply. Regular travel to New Zealand for collaboration with our internal team.

Why Halter

Halter is building genuinely world-changing technology. We're deploying complex, high-reliability hardware at a scale and pace that very few companies in our space have achieved.

This role is not a cog in a machine. You will be directly responsible for getting Halter's hardware from factory to farm, at the quality and volume our global growth demands. The decisions you make and the systems you build will have a measurable impact on Halter's ability to fulfil its mission.

You'll work alongside some of the best engineers, operators, and problem-solvers in the business: people who care intensely about doing great work and who will back you to own your domain fully.

For the right person, this is the kind of role that defines a career chapter. We're looking for someone who sees it that way.
