Lead Portcast's end-to-end marketing function, focusing on product marketing, event strategy, cross-functional alignment, team leadership, and data-driven demand generation to drive pipeline and revenue for an enterprise B2B SaaS logistics platform.

Portcast is a venture-backed, Singapore-based logistics technology company building AI-powered intelligence for the freight forwarding industry. Freight forwarders manage thousands of shipments, rates, exceptions, and operational decisions every day. The challenge is not a lack of data. It is knowing what needs attention, what is going wrong, and what action to take next.

Portcast uses AI and data to help freight forwarders surface shipment exceptions, identify cost and margin risks, and make better decisions across the shipment lifecycle. Our products help teams improve operational efficiency, protect margins, and make faster, more informed decisions. Our vision is to become the AI data and intelligence layer that powers exception management and margin improvement on every shipment.

Founded in 2018 and backed by leading technology investors, we are a lean, globally distributed team building technology for an industry going through a major digital transformation.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Marketing Director to own Marketing end to end, reporting directly to the CEO and leading a lean team of two. Marketing's role is to make Portcast's value clear to the market, build demand with the right customers, and help our Commercial team win.

This is a builder role. You won't inherit a large marketing organisation or an established playbook. You'll set the strategy, decide what matters, and stay close to execution. You'll also own our events and demand generation strategy, with a clear focus on creating measurable business impact.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building, is comfortable operating with limited resources, and naturally takes ownership without waiting for direction. You should be curious about our customers and industry, excited by AI, and able to turn complex products into stories that enterprise freight forwarders understand and care about.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

    • Marketing strategy and direction: Translate company goals and the needs of the CEO, Sales, and Product into a clear, prioritized marketing strategy and quarterly plans with measurable goals, ensuring every initiative contributes to pipeline growth & customer expansion.

    • Demand generation and inbound pipeline: Own the inbound pipeline and the marketing levers that influence it. Work closely with the Growth Marketing Manager to understand performance, identify opportunities, test new approaches, and reallocate effort and spend towards what is working. You should be able to connect marketing activity to pipeline quality and commercial outcomes.

    • Product marketing: Work closely with Product, Sales, Customer Success, Solutions, and customers to deeply understand new capabilities, identify differentiated messaging, and bring new products and features to market. Build sales enablement materials, competitive positioning, customer stories, and launch plans that help our Commercial team succeed. We don't want marketing to simply receive launch requests. We want someone who actively drives the launch process, challenges whether we're telling the right story, and ensures great product work never goes unnoticed.

    • Customer and market insight: Stay close to customers, prospects, competitors, and the logistics technology market. Use customer conversations, sales feedback, win/loss insights, and market research to identify opportunities for sharper positioning, better content, stronger campaigns, and new go-to-market initiatives.

    • Event marketing: Decide which events are worth attending or sponsoring each quarter, own organizer outreach and logistics, and make sure we show up where our buyers are.

    • Cross Functional Leadership:  Partner closely with the CEO, Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Solutions to align marketing with business priorities. Proactively identify opportunities for launches, campaigns, and market education instead of waiting for requests. You'll be expected to navigate pressure from multiple stakeholders, prioritize effectively, communicate trade offs clearly, and ensure marketing consistently delivers the highest business impact.

    • Team leadership: Lead and mentor a lean team of two marketers. Set clear priorities, coach team members, provide regular feedback, raise the quality bar across marketing, and create an environment where people continue to grow while maintaining high execution standards.

    • Data-driven decisions: Own the inbound pipeline and every lever in it. Measure what matters, find the right insights, and reallocate spend and effort to what's working. Your reporting should make trade-offs obvious.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

    • Bachelor's or Master's in Marketing, Business, or a related field, or equivalent.

    • Proven marketing leadership experience owning marketing for a complex, enterprise B2B SaaS product with a consultative sales motion, meaningful ACVs, and multiple stakeholders involved in the buying decision. We are not looking for a background primarily in low-ACV, transactional, self-serve, or horizontal SaaS. Experience in logistics, supply chain, industrial, manufacturing, fintech, cybersecurity, data, or other complex B2B technology environments is particularly relevant.

    • Curiosity for Logistics Domain: Experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation, or freight technology is highly valued, but so is a genuine curiosity to understand our market in depth.

    • Commercial mindset: You understand that Marketing in an enterprise business needs to contribute to revenue and you have worked closely with Sales on longer, multi-stakeholder sales cycles and can point to measurable impact on pipeline, opportunities, win rates, revenue, or customer acquisition.

    • Product Marketing Expertise: You have a strong product marketing foundation with experience owning positioning, messaging, go to market strategy, product launches, customer storytelling, and sales enablement. You know how to turn technical products into compelling business narratives.

    • Ownership and Initiative: You naturally spot opportunities before others do. You don't wait for someone to ask you to market a new feature, write a customer story, or launch a campaign. You proactively identify what matters, build momentum across teams, and drive initiatives through to completion with minimal direction.

    • Growth and demand generation: You have a good working understanding of performance marketing and the key metrics behind it. The Growth Marketing Manager will own execution, day-to-day delivery, and experiment design. Your role is to stay close to performance, provide input where needed, and ensure work is aligned to broader business priorities.

    • Content quality and standards: Execution and production of content will sit with the Content Marketing Manager, while your role is to guide direction, review output, and set them to a higher standard.

    • AI Forward Mindset: You consistently apply AI across advanced marketing workflows and actively experiment with new tools as they emerge.

    • Startup Builder Mentality: You thrive in lean, fast moving environments where ownership is high and resources are limited. You're comfortable balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution and enjoy building processes, programs, and marketing assets yourself when needed.

    • Cross Functional Influence: You are comfortable challenging assumptions, navigating competing priorities, and driving alignment across Product, Sales, Customer Success, Solutions.

    • People leader and mentor: You develop the people around you. You give honest feedback and care about your team's growth as much as their output.

    • Strong communicator: You communicate clearly across a diverse, distributed, cross-cultural team. You can be opinionated, but you engage with other views and compromise when it's right. You can simplify complex ideas, influence stakeholders, and build trust across diverse groups.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

    • Build in an industry that's still defining modern B2B marketing: Logistics & supply chain technology is at an exciting stage of digital transformation, with significant opportunities to rethink how enterprise software is marketed. You'll have the opportunity to bring fresh ideas, challenge conventional thinking, and help shape what great marketing looks like in this industry.

    • Shape how the market sees Portcast and work at the intersection of AI and logistics: We have a strong product, established enterprise customers, and a significant opportunity to sharpen how we position ourselves in the market.

    • We're small by design and fully distributed across Asia and Europe, built on trust, accountability, and collaboration. There are few layers between an idea and execution, and your decisions can directly influence pipeline, revenue, product launches, customer perception, and company growth.

OUR CORE VALUES GUIDE EVERYTHING WE DO

    • Curiosity: We dig into why a campaign worked or didn't, why a deal moved or stalled, how a freight forwarder actually operates, and what customers really value..

    • Ownership: We act like founders. We don't wait to be told what to market, and we stay on a problem until it actually moves the number.

    • Raising the bar: We don't settle for content or campaigns that are merely fine. We hold a high standard for quality, craft, and the experience our brand creates.

    • Effectiveness: We focus on marketing that creates real pipeline and revenue impact. We prioritize the right problems, make practical trade-offs, and ship work that drives outcomes, not just output.

    •

Join us at Portcast and help shape the future of the logistics and shipping industry through marketing that is as sharp as the product behind it.
