As a Managing Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the 55ip team, you will be a seasoned technologist and senior people leader at the firm. Your mission in this role will be to lead the technology function for the business, delivering solutions that help break down barriers to our clients' financial progress. You'll bring in-depth experience in developing high-performing proficient technology teams, leading end to end delivery of high scale technology solutions, promoting strategic programs and governing software development processes, maintaining stakeholders relations, and managing organizational structure and budget. Your organizational leadership, analytical thinking, strong communication and constructive collaboration will be key to your success in this role.
Job responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with the company's business objectives and product roadmap, and monitor annual technology budgets.
- Stay current with industry trends, evaluate emerging technologies, and identify potential opportunities that align with business and product vision.
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing technology team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with other executives to develop business strategy.
- Collaborate with the Product team to define annual and quarterly roadmaps by overseeing the design, development, and implementation of high-quality and high-scale software solutions.
- Govern and enhance the agile scrum software development lifecycle and software testing standards and processes.
- Lead, enhance, and govern the application support function, overseeing the maintenance and improvement of the application infrastructure to ensure observability, reliability, security, and scalability.
- Implement and enforce effective technology controls, and cybersecurity and data protection measures.
- Act as a thought leader and represent the company in technology-related forums by collaborating with internal and external partners to deliver on the product roadmap.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 15+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.
- Demonstrate proven experience in a senior technology leadership role such as CTO, SVP of Engineering, or similar, with a strong background in software development, systems architecture, and technology management.
- Deliver high-scale systems and technology operations in a fast-growing business, with proficiency in agile scrum, DevOps, SRE, and FinOps practices.
- Possess domain experience in Wealth Management, Investment Management, and/or Trading systems, with strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Exhibit exceptional project management and decision-making abilities, with the ability to translate product requirements into technical specifications and solutions.
- Stay informed of key technological trends and link them to business impact.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Recognized thought leader and innovator with demonstrated industry experience, including experience working at the code level.
- Possession of an MBA is preferred.
