The Manager, Quality Control and Audit will lead a team of Quality Specialists and will report to the Senior Manager of Supplier Quality and will be responsible for managing quality control at suppliers in Asia as well as planning the schedule of supplier quality audits to be conducted annually, and the auditors to execute. This individual will require capabilities of delivering both tactical and strategic results in a fast paced and demanding growth environment. Primary responsibility will include managing supplier inspections on existing products and new product introductions, including pre-shipment authorization activities, as well as partnering with Procurement on supplier selection and qualification activities and ongoing monitoring of suppliers through audits. This Quality Inspection leader will be responsible for quality control activities, including source inspection activities, any required containment activities, and regular process audits. This individual will also be responsible to gather data to contribute to effective KPI’s related to supplier quality, and drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout YETI’s Asia supply-base. Having extensive experience supplier quality processes, the Manager of Quality Inspection will also be responsible to partner with YETI’s Advanced Quality Engineers, Procurement, Product Development, and Manufacturing Engineering partners to strengthen processes related to supplier selection & monitoring, transfer to production, process validation and all elements of the PPAP process.

Responsibilities:

· The person in this role will lead a team of quality control specialists to maintain high standards and support the cross functional teams as they create high quality products to schedule.

· Support the quality inspection department with training and technical guidance

· Maintain subcontractor lists, audits, and surveys

· Coordinate the schedule for inspectors at Suppliers

· Coordinate third party inspections as necessary

· Manage and synthesize the data from inspections conducted at suppliers on YETI products.

· High commitment to focus, detail orientated and ability to manage multiple priorities

· Coordinating a proper interface between quality control needs and activities for supplier quality, production quality, testing and validation, and engineering, as applicable.

· Executing and assisting in specific quality control-related training, promoting a passion for quality and integrity in all actions, with a focus on result orientation; and ensuring organization has necessary hardware and software capabilities to ensure products and systems meet specified requirements and customer expectations.

· Ensuring deployment of metrics and tools related to quality control in incoming items, production, factory, or test labs, and final inspection quality, as applicable.

· Act as lead internal auditor for the company. Lead the internal audit process. Create and publish audit schedule for all internal auditors, and coordinate audit events.

· Train auditors within the team to audit product and processes as well as quality systems.

· Monitor, analyze and improve overall supplier quality performance to ensure that supplied products meet YETI quality requirements and provide regular reports to leadership

· Lead the implementation of an effective and consistent Pre-Shipment Inspection strategy and maintain throughout YETI’s supplier/partners, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the supporting documentation and data.

· Contribute to the evolution of the Quality Management System through review and revision of Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and supporting documentation for Supplier Quality Engineers to ensure success in their roles

· Manage Quality Control personnel, ensuring focus and strong execution on projects and product/process issues

· Collaborate with cross-functional team members to set and ensure quality standards and communicate quality requirements to suppliers

· Manage the supplier audit program, follow up and implement corrective & preventive actions either with the supplier or YETI division

· Maintain KPI’s and drive continuous improvement throughout the supply chain. Coaching the Quality Control personnel to record the Non Conformances accurately to enable the Quality Engineers to collaborate with suppliers.

· Lead the YETI review & approval of all PPAP submissions

· Implement and manage YETI pre-shipment Inspections and out of box audits, issue inspection reports and request/review/follow up the issue logs from the supplier

· Manage supplier side communication related to product quality controls, material specifications, GPAS and packaging information

· Work with YETI’s Product Safety & Compliance team on the product compliance test monitoring and issue follow up

· Knowledgeable in inspection techniques and inspection equipment

· Be able to travel occasionally to visit vendors/customers

· Ability to work in a team environment

Qualifications and Attributes:

· Bachelor’s Degree Engineering, Masters Degree beneficial

· At least 8 years of working experience a fast paced industry with highly structured supplier quality processes, potentially including Automotive, Aerospace, Medical Devices etc.

· At least 5 years leading quality teams in a high growth environment with high product and process mix

· Prior direct experience and thorough understanding of APQP and related process controls, including SPC, PFMEA’s, Process Validation, Control Plans, etc., as well as supplier audits

· Successful record the implementation of effective KPI’s and in driving continuous improvement through a global supply chain

· Prior background in Hardgoods, Softgoods, Apparel/Fashion, Textiles beneficial, including experience with plastics manufacturing

· Strong problem-solving skills and experience with the following processes (PDCA, 5W, 8D, DMAIC, LEAN).

· Strong quality project management, analytical and critical thinking skills

· Strong communication skills and fluency in English

· Must be willing to take initiative to drive for solutions

· Strong teamwork with ability to collaborate within global environments where teams may be dispersed

· Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a strong sense of urgency

· Must be willing to travel to supplier locations (up to 50%)
