Lead development and execution of public communications strategies for IMDA business programmes. Partner with stakeholders and agencies to create messaging, media strategies, and audience awareness. Manage media relations, briefings, pitches, speaking points, and coordinate cross-team efforts. Analyze data to shape narratives across channels and harmonize messaging.
[What the role is]
This role will be supporting the communications strategy for IMDA’s business programmes to develop messaging, communications plans and key media strategies. This includes managing relations with media, internal and external stakeholders as well as external industry partners.[What you will be working on]
Responsibilities:
- Partner business stakeholders to understand priorities and programmes, and to effectively develop and implement end-to-end public communications plans to drive awareness of such programmes
- Coordinate efforts with other business teams, agencies, ministries where required
- Manage and analyse data points from various sources to develop end-to-end plans to manage public narratives across all available channels
- Oversee all aspects of media management work, including media briefings, materials, media pitches and interview requests, as well as talking points for speaking engagement and speeches
- Develop audience awareness for business policy, programmes and initiatives
- Work closely with various teams to harmonise plans and messaging with intended audiences
[What we are looking for]
Requirements:
- Background in Public relations/Communications/Journalism/Marketing or a related discipline
- 5-10 years of relevant experience in Journalism, Public Relations, Government Comms
- Highly driven and energetic, able to thrive and deliver results in fast-paced working environment
- Strong project management and analytical skills, able to follow through on projects in a timely manner
- Experience working with and pitching to reporters from tech and business beats across media channels an advantage (but not a pre-requisite)
- Experience with managing 3rd party agencies/vendors/suppliers
- Ability to understand business units’ needs and translate these needs into impactful communications plans
- Curiosity and interest in the tech and media industry
