Design solar PV systems across rooftop, ground-mounted, and utility-scale projects. Perform system sizing, energy-yield forecasting, inverter, string, cable, short-circuit, load-flow, and voltage-drop calculations. Prepare SLDs, wiring diagrams, BOQs, technical specifications, and design reports using PVsyst, HelioScope, and AutoCAD. Conduct site assessments, ensure regulatory compliance, coordinate with procurement and execution teams, support installation and commissioning, and resolve site design issues.
Key Responsibilities
1. System Design & Engineering
- Design solar PV systems (rooftop, ground-mounted, or utility-scale).
- Perform system sizing, energy yield estimation, and performance analysis.
- Design DC and AC systems for solar PV plants
- Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), wiring diagrams, and cable schedules
- Perform inverter sizing, string sizing, and cable sizing calculations
- Design earthing and lightning protection systems
- Conduct short circuit, load flow, and voltage drop analysis
System Design & Simulation
- Use tools like:
- PVsyst
- Helioscope
- AutoCAD
2. Site Assessment & Feasibility
- Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies.
- Analyze shadow, tilt, orientation, and structural constraints.
- Recommend optimal system configurations.
3. Technical Documentation
- Prepare BOQ (Bill of Quantities) and technical specifications.
- Develop design reports and project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, standards, and DISCOM requirements.
4. Software & Tools
- Use design tools such as:
- PVsyst
- AutoCAD
- Perform simulations and energy generation forecasts.
5. Coordination & Execution Support
- Work closely with procurement and execution teams.
- Provide technical support during installation and commissioning.
- Resolve on-site design issues.
